I don't like my PSN ID anymore, it's a stupid made up fantasy name. Unfortunately Sony doesn't allow its gamers to change their ID.
I have almost 1000 trophies on my current ID. Took me almost 2 years. I'm not a trophy hunter, but I have 3 platinum trophies and I am proud of 1 of them because I really like the game. Though I could leave that trophy behind me.
I have the progress of 3 online multiplayer games on my current account. GTA Online - only playing when I have nothing else to play, Elder Scrolls Online - I don't think I will come back, Destiny - I might come back for Destiny 2 and guess you can transfer your progress.
I could create a new ID and use it only for multiplayer games and use my current ID only for singleplayer games (doesn't really bother me in singleplayer games because no one sees it). But I'm not sure if I prefer the idea of using 2 IDs over having 1 main ID for everything.
I've thought about creating a new ID for a while. What was holding me back mainly was the progress I made in online games. But lately I've been thinking: better now before I feel it's too late in 2 or 3 years. And I really don't like my ID anymore. At least not for online multiplayer games where other people see my ID.
What would you do?

I want a name change. Please Sony!
-
Hey, dont. Sony is releasing a ps4 update eventually that will let you change your psn name.
-
Honestly trophies / points who the duck cares the only thing I'd care for is my digital orders can you download them still? As it's the same ps4 serial / primary system?
-
This is why Xbox is better. ;)
-
Play station users can't just pay to change it? That's -blam!-ing retarded...... Maybe you can contact support and say you need it change because it's offensive to you and your new sexuality.....

Edited by Rt_Classic93: 1/22/2016 8:36:48 AMDo what I did, create an offensive Id, my old one was obamabeenshartin, post the Id in the destiny forum, and wait for some asshole to report it for being offensive, then contact Sony to change it. You'll lose your friend list and trophy, but meh.
-
I created a new account, it's great.
-
I wish I could change my name too, too much shit on my current one so it won't be worth it to make a new one
-
If you are then make it on PS3 and get a modder to mod your GTA account to get lots of money. Then transfer it to PS4 and voila.
-
No, but you should go -blam!- yourself.
-
Dude, i'm in the same boat. My account was originally created by my sister and is named after her. I have around 3000 trophies and 10 years worth of purchased content. I will go down with the ship before i leave that baby to die.

I made my PSN ID when I was 17 and it has haunted me ever since. Though I saw an article on future PS4 updates that may include the ability to pay to have your ID changed. It may or may not be true, I don't think its true unless it comes directly from Sony, but I can dream. Until that day comes, I am stuck with my name. It may be a stupid name, but its MY stupid name.
-
What's the old ID and what's the new ID? Options are nice.
-
I mean it would help to actually know wtf your gt is..
-
If you really want to, go for it. I love my Xbox gt and psn ID though.
-
Why not? It's not like you would delete your old profile/account.
-
I when I got a PS3 I was like really young but I think it's pretty good. I think I was 11 when the PS3 came out
-
Wait until September. I've been hearing rumours the next patch will allow users to change their name. Then again, don't quote me on this.
-
You can't change your gamer tag on psn? Wow.
-
Just because I can't throw money around like its nothing, I would keep it if I was in your shoes(I love my name though!).but if it REALLY bothers you, make a new account.
