Hi I've recently come back to Destiny after taking a year break and all I see in crucible is TLW, Mida and 1000ys.. I used to use AR's exclusively and now I can't win any 1v1 gunfights.. :-( what is the best AR that can compete with these guns in the current build of the game?
Thanks :-)

I'd say the exotic ARs are excellent. For legendary, the trials and iron banner are good with stability perks. Arminius-D from the gunsmith is apparently really good too

Edited by Sixclicks: 1/18/2016 3:59:08 PMARs are still great and compete for the most used guns in Crucible. If you don't believe that then go to Guardian.gg click on stats and then weapons. It depends on the game mode of course. They're clearly dominant in 6v6 game modes, but less popular in 3v3.

My buddies just killed it with a doctrine and one had the new monarchy AR.
-
I love the iron banner one.
-
The doctrine of passing
-
Suros regime and Zhalo Supercell kill me more often now than in past months. I've used scouts exclusively since I got one with firefly in year one.
-
I do good with Monte Carlo.

A Rs are ded dude

An Answering Chord, absolutely demolishes if you have a skilled hand. If you have Hand Laid Stock and Outlaw, gg you win.

Nuff said

Why does no one say Hard Light? Bullet hose with max stability & no damage drop off.

It's just a matter of the lobby you are in, and the players you are going against. I brought the Khvostov out for poops and giggles not too long ago, and outgunned MIDA, The Last Word, and Doctrine of Passing. Alternatively, you could have a great loadout of all your best gear, and get outgunned by test weapons. It's not so much about the gun, but moreso who's using it and how their connection is to the match.

In my experience zhalo supercell can outgun just about anything. It's one of my favorite guns.

ARs are amazing right now. They are in a perfect place. I use them to success all the time. They are extremely viable, and if you can't use them, then somethings wrong
-
ARs are now better because of that 0.04% buff.
-
All about what range your in bro
-
Doctrine of passing can def compete with every primary rn
-
For me i use the zhalo supercell it beats everything but that damn doctrin of passing or what ever it is lol that gun has insane fr and zhalo is just under it -_-

Atheons Epilogue
-
I use righteous 7 from new monarchy. Max stability and glass half full. I kill MIDA users and sometimes TLW users.
-
Monte Carlo has been making a bit of a stir
-
Hard light with bottom half. Just have to remember: don't reload
-
Doctrine of Passing seems to be the go to AR.

Haakon's Hatchet

Level advantages disabled? Hands down it is nechrochasm. It seems to auto track headshots, like the drift from holding down the trigger literally pushes your aim towards heads. That and the fact that it is one of only a couple guns actually affected by the freaking .04% buff make it the obvious choice. If you don't have it, get it. If you can't get 1-2 people to help you farm the crux, then any auto in that archetype will be the next best thing.

Edited by jay p: 1/16/2016 5:46:36 PMMost people say the bullet hoses like epilogue. You need to find one with a couple range buffs though. I still think Monte Carlo is the best auto if you don't mind using an exotic primary. One of the few autos you can get barrel impact upgrades. Plus you can choose more stability or range depending on your playstyle. And it handles great. Play a couple games with it and you'll see. Edit: why Monte Carlo works great is because you can get higher damage but keep your rate of fire the same.
