I personally think that KF has much better mechanics than VoG, but all the year one players want to pick VoG because they can take pride in being the first to step into it. It's loot was arguably worse than KF because if you were missing even one piece (which a lot of people were), you were stuck doing a ton less damage than the lvl 30s, whereas 315 vs. 320 is not too significant in damage difference. Sure it was big and gave a sense of plunging deeper and deeper into Venus, but most of it was empty space with nothing important.

  • VoG felt bigger and more involved than kings fall. When I first got into KF, I thought it was pretty epic feeling and I enjoyed the puzzles and mechanics. For some reason it always felt a little short, despite being their "biggest" raid to date. I think a lot of the problem with KF was that it felt familiar. VoG was new territory. Yes we had seen a lot of the vex and their architecture in the campaign and strikes, but VoG was a whole other level. I did like they way the game really trained you for what to expect in the raid in TTK, but they trained us with the he same enemies and mechanics we faced in the raid, making it all feel a little too familiar. That and we had all but occupied the dreadnought for the exception of Oryx's throne realm. There was little mystery and awe to be had after completing the campaign. So yeah, VoG. In contrast, I think Crota's End felt the most alien, despite being quite short.

  • KF was the most stressful and infuriating game mode I've ever played in Destiny, I didn't enjoy it at all xD

  • How about the pit from CE, totems from KF, Templar, Golgoroth, Warpriest, and finnaly killing skolas in the final boss fight?

  • VoG loot was far superior. Fatebringer, praedeths timepiece/revenge, corrective measure, VoC , vex, elemental primaries it's not even close.

    • VoG: focus on gunplay, with a bit of mechanics. KF: focus on mechanics, with a bit of gunplay. This is why VoG is still the best.

    • Other than the machine gun, kings fall raid guns are either crap or meh. Mechanics are better team-wise in Kings Fall, but it just isn't as fun as VOG. If VOG gave out the same weapons and armor with updated year 2 infusion and light level, I would never go back to Kings Fall ever again. Why go back to Kings Fall? For what? Less fun and fugly armor and crappy guns?

    • VoG running away with by a mile...as it should. Kings Fall is a good Raid..Crota's End is like a long Strike. PoE was a joke. VoG was interesting, challenging, and I couldn't play enough of it in year 1. Still the most challenging Raid by far imo.

        I like vog. Kings fall is proving to have to many mechanics for the average group. I can fly through it with my clan, but if I have to use randoms, it turns into a 3 hour event that usually disbands. It's gross

      • KF still is my favourite. Vault always gave me utter garbage loot drops, and it got pretty boring towards the end of year one. Do t get me wrong, it's visually stunning still, and I think the transitions between fights were better than KF, but I like that KF punishes passengers and mistakes harder than the other two raids. Feels heaps better when you nail the bosses in a couple of rounds

      • Vog for me. The vault felt like an adventure, the environment flowed together. Kings fall is awesome but has more of a Poe feel, go to a room clear it and repeat.

      • Kings fall would be shit even if it offered 320 Y2 Gjally as a guaranteed drop. It's overly mechanical, which makes it boring, and there're too many jumping puzzles. The ratio of gunplay/gameplay to stand and DPS is too far off. The majority of the raid is spent doing repetitive jumps, or standing in one spot. The first half is fun. But once the boss bits start, it's basically the same encounter, slightly tweaked over and over.

      • KF is actually pretty great with the mechanics. It was also cool to really explore the belly of the Dreadnaught. VoG will always hold a special place but let's be real, it's not head and shoulders above. Maybe only just by a little.

      • VoG is still the best raid, Crota was a joke, prison wasn't worth after a few runs, and KF, while being a decent raid, has complete bullshit rng, they just made the grind even more stretched out for the sole purpose of making people run it longer, KF is also a lot easier than VoG was. As for empty space, the wall of dicks after golgoroth is so much empty space for what amounts to a bunch of ledges to climb a single wall, both raids have their share of empty space.

        • Crota for 1 simple fact. It's fast and easy. I really enjoyed vog, however is rare that I can just sit Dien for a couple of hours to play.

          And KF has something important in every corner? Edit: VoG was simply more fun. It has nothing to do with being the first to step it. It's probably the fact that we didn't know what to expect.
