Hopefully cozmo or deej will read this, because I have discovered a major balance issue in the SRL. It has come to my attention that hunters have an unfair advantage during the races that needs to be addressed.
No doubt, everyone is familiar with the class items; the titan mark, the warlock bond and, of course, the hunter cloak. However, in SRL, the cloak actually gives the hunter an advantage: drag.
Yes, the fact that a hunters cloak is centrally positioned on their body means they suffer no disadvantage while rocketing around the track, whereas the locations of marks and bonds means that titans suffer more drag on the right and warlocks more drag on the left.
This leaves us in the position where titans can't turn left as effectively, and warlocks struggle with the rights. This advantage given to hunters to be able to turn left and right equally well needs to be remedied.
But Cthulhu, I'm sure you'll ask, these are small things, and the cloak surely weighs more? No doubt, but again, the weight is centrally located on hunter, and in real world racing an unbalanced vehicle will always struggle against a slightly heavier but balanced vehicle (unless of course they are racing on a nascar style oval in which the direction of travel involves only one direction in which to turn, which does favour an unbalanced setup).
Fortunately, the solution is simple: on the SRL class items, add a second bond to the warlocks right arm and another streamer off the titans left hip. This would ensure these classes are balanced properly, both by drag and weight, and even keep the hunter from being at a weight disadvantage afterwards. And best of all, titans and warlocks would now have two contrails streaming out behind them, allowing them to look just as cool as the hunters as they go speeding by at full throttle. If we can get this thread trending, surely this gross injustice will be remedied and the playing field will be even so be sure to bump and show your support.
BALANCE THE SPARROWS!!!
Edit: I wanted to add #lightenup because I find people on these forums tend to take everything too seriously and are too ready to flame others for their opinion, or leave remarks without reading the post fully (and end up looking stupid as a result, already got 1 negative remark after writing the first edit :D) but the app wouldn't let me :(

This is a joke right? If so, you're hilarious If not, are you retarded?
-
Hate to burst your bubble here, but I think the game isn't that technical.
-
oh, thats why my sparrow is always pulling to the right when i use my warlock. i thought i was going crazy...#satire
-
Wow they don't care about drag it dosen't matter what you wear if your good enough you can win. And people call me stupid I can't believe you wrote a whole thead about it, it's not even programmed into the game.
-
Uhhhhh. I appreciate your concern but I don't think bungie factored in the coefficient of drag in the drivability of sparrow racing. That's some ps5-6 type game engineering type shit
-
Uh.... There is no weight in Destiny...
-
Dude how baked are you? That theory is far too complex for bungies intelligence.
-
You also firvot to mention our cloaks help us stay grounded better

Hahaha :D Epic topic. Get a like!
-
we warlocks do just fine. hunters may rely on balance to do better but we have space magic! I fell sorry for the titans though
-
Same for female gaurdians they weigh less than males Also those exo's are so darn heavy
-
Bond causing balance issues...grasping at straws there lol
-
Haha got me.... son of a.....
-
One thing why do you need new sparrows to do tricks? It's pointless because they give you a snow scream and you can't even do tricks on that!
-
Brilliant. lol
-
10/10 for the comedic relief. :)
-
maybe that;s; why I always veer to the left out of the portals on my titan and warlock hunter master race continues to be confirmed
-
Edited by Southern4x4: 12/18/2015 3:21:33 AMFunny but no. Titans have the biggest heads in Destiny... thus more drag. Warlocks wear dresses(picture Mary Poppins fluttering down with her umbrella)... enough said.
-
That explains why I suck! Give Hunters an ankle weight on one side so they have a difficult turn to make too! #lol
-
I'm better at racing on my Warlock, and I main a Hunter.
-
All for it! And the purple sparrow needs a nerf!

Edited by piratepatchy243: 12/18/2015 5:00:19 AMDamn, that makes sense I never thought of it like that. During a race on venus I saw warlock in 2nd struggling right at the end. A fallen walker lined up blew him to smithereens with the main gun, he might of made if he had that other warlock bond or none:)
I really did see someone get blown up though, I bet he was pissed because that was right before the finish on the final lap.
Hunter SRL master race confirmed.

You know what your right. Character movement mechanics are built into the sparrow movements. I guarantee if bungie looked at the statistics of all the fastest records on the tracks I guarantee the bulk majority of them would be hunters. The hunters sparrow in racing feels lighter and more nimble while turning abruptly. It is very responsive. The warlocks vehicle might be 2 kph faster but it drives like its heavier with alot of oversteer.

Drag? Wut?
