Destiny - Something bad has happened. Please wait a moment... On XBONE

Hi guys I am having a really big problem which is preventing me from playing Destiny TTK... The day before I was able to log in and play as usual. However today when I booted up the game: 1. The game was stuck at the loading screen (the black background with the white loading animation on the bottom right) for 5 minutes before progressing to the title screen. 2. After being prompted to press A to log in, the screen froze at the connecting phase of the log in. 3. After freezing for awhile, the game crashed into this command prompt like screen stating "Oops something bad has happened... Please wait a moment" 4. The screen then changed to another sentence stating that I should reboot the system to continue to play. I followed the instructions 3 times but same result. I have searched for possible fixes like deleting the game, clearing cache and reinstalling. Resetting wifi and hard resetting my XBONE as well. Did all the steps at least 5 times but I still get the command prompt like screen. There's no error code or anything like that... Bungie do you mind letting me know what is happening and provide a fix please? Thanks.

Hmm. I've been on #help and haven't heard of that in a while. Since you have tried virtually everything possible, try waiting. See if this occurs later today and/or tomorrow.

  • Hi Shawndrose27, From reading your post, I see that you have already tried a couple of troubleshooting steps. However, I'm going to list a couple below that similar to what yo have already tried. Could you please either attempt these troubleshooting steps again following these directions or confirm that this is the order that you did them in initially. First, please attempt to clear your console cache by following this guide: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12539 If that does not resolve the issue, please uninstall Destiny, clear your console cache again using the above guide, and then reinstall Destiny using this guide: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12288
