Septagon Weekly Update - 2015/12/04: It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...Exams and Work

We're not there yet, but we're getting close. The chilly season is upon us and everyone is getting down to business (to defeat the Huns) before the holidays. Unless you're from the southern hemisphere. In that case, you should turn your computer upside down to read this properly. In truth, the community is slowing down for the season, as some of you may have noticed, so there's less to talk about compared to usual. However, we'll get to that later. For now, welcome to another Septagon Weekly Update. What's Going On in the Community?
Hola! I am here to invite everyone to sign the Community Christmas Card that will be sent to Bungie Inc this December. Please follow this link and follow the instructions there.
And don't tell Bungie!
Hello everyone! Mechetti back with all of your weekly Game Night info! Only two Game Nights this week, and both are tonight! FCAW - Marathon Infinity - (2015/12/4) For Carnage Apply Within is kicking off its December Game Nights with a night of Marathon Infinity! Today at 9PM EST. Community Carnage - King's Fall Raid - (2015/12/4) The Community Carnage is starting out December strong with a Destiny Raid Night. The first ever King's Fall Raid Night, to be exact. Later today at 9PM EST.
History of the Ancients
Good day my fellow Bnet denizens! After stuffing my face last week I’m back to give you guys a healthy slice of history! Oh, and big shout-out to Charlemagne for picking up the slack last week. Don’t tell him I said this, but he’s the best boss ever.
Editor's note: Can confirm. I'm the best.
For any other university students out there, I’m dedicating this one to us. You see, the holidays are fast approaching, but so is dead week, and the terrible finals that follow. To help make this difficult time a little easier, I’ve brought in bungie.net’s very own emotional support, the Disembodied Soul. Unfortunately the Soul is very busy, and was unable to provide me with an interview (he’s also been missing since B.next). But I wouldn’t want to disappoint, so I pulled this old gem out of hiding for you all to see. The Disembodied Soul began his days as a Bungie employee who made the serious error of pirating the source code to Marathon and later mislabeling an entire batch of Marathon: Infinity Disks. Unable to look past his transgressions, Bungie took this employee’s soul and incorporated it into bungie.net’s original servers. Since then, the Soul has been cursed to maintain the site’s help section, although he always handed out warnings and blacklists to members instead. The Soul’s official title was “Emotional Support,” helping others emotionally by being the lowest common denominator. Since the transition to B.next the soul has been lost within the servers. Prior to his disappearance, however, the Soul made a total of seven post to the forums. August 12, 2004: "I don't think that means what you think it means." August 27, 2004: "I think you're trying to fool me. It won't work." August 18, 2005: "I don't think that means what you think it means." April 28, 2006: "That does not mean what you think it means." March 20, 2008: "I see fire and I see flames. I see evil people all strung up in chains." April 1, 2008: "That was before he entered the federal witness protection program." December 22, 2010: "My absence has been greatly exaggerated." Lost or not, the Soul continues his slow crawl to infinity. Good luck to those with exams, and if you’re fortunate enough not to have them, well, I’m jelly. Very jelly.
I miss the old Soul. Maybe it'll return to us. I'll be sure to let you know if it does. Cloaks, Marks, and Bonds Are Hung By the Door We're keeping things a bit short this week since we're all getting pretty busy. However, I'd like to take this time to thank those of you who read these each week. We really do appreciate you and hope you'll return to us. That said, first we have to return to you. This will be the last SWU you see until Christmas. We're going to purposefully make them more infrequent, perhaps monthly. In truth, there just isn't enough going on at this time of year to update people on anymore. This post will definitely come around for major events like PAX or Bungie Day, but otherwise it's going to spend some time with the Soul and rest up. I'll talk to you all soon. I hope you all have an eventful and enjoyable time until then. Stay classy, community. Question of the Week: Newbies: What would you like to see in the SWU when it returns? Ancients: What would you like to add to the community over the next while?

 • Although I'm a newbie, I'd like to answer the Ancient question as it's fairly important. Anyway, I think some system of ranks is honestly the best way. Encouraging people to be continually social as well as respecting the COC seems to be the way to go. Also, seeing a featured clan of the week would be cool.
