The picture has an error
There are a whopping total of 6 Heros in the new battlefront, not two. Still doesn't compare to 19, but it's better you should know.
I probably hate AngryJoe as much as anyone, however I'm directing your attention to this review because it's spot on. It's worth noting that he calls this Reincarnation of Battlefront as Star Wars Battlefront EA, distinguishing it from its godly predecessors, which he refers to as Star Wars Battlefront.
For people trying to deny it, the game is bad. It's crap and you're hurting it by saying it's anything above Below Average.
Here are some of the points Joe brought out, they aren't word for word, but they grasp the main ideas.
•"God Awful" spawn placement
•Lack of prequel units (i.e. Clone wars)
•No Space battles
•Minimal playable vehicles
•Unbalanced weapons
•The fact that the most OP weapon was included in the deluxe edition, which cost ten dollars extra
•The coolest stuff (i.e. The extra-terrestrial rebel trooper skins and the scout/dark trooper skins) cost atleast twice as much as anything else in the game and require one to be max level which again takes an necessary amount of grinding.
•The two modes that "capture the feel of battlefront" (Supremacy and Walker Assault) only has four maps
•Partner system is very limited and broken
•Darth Vader and Luke have poor lightsaber mechanics (It's just spam the right trigger)
•Customization is bare bones
•Unbalanced Star Cards
•Single player is dull and also bare bones
•There are only 11 primary weapons
•$50 season pass
•No Galactic conquest
•No campaign
•Gets old quick
This is the complete list of what he mentioned in his 40 minute review and I agree with him. The game isn't what I, as a gamer, Star Wars fan and Battlefront fan expected. It's obvious that it was rushed out and I'm left asking "Where is the rest of the game?"
What about you? Do you agree with Joe and I?
-
What's wrong with joe? His reviews are usually true and there also funny. Did I make a thread because he gave destiny a 5 or 6?
-
I expected a Battlefield clone. Then I played the beta only to find a game dumbed down to appeal to Star Wars fans who aren't into games. At this point I'd be happy with Star Wars: Battlefield.
-
They released half a game, so they got half a score
-
I mean your playing destiny so you must not care about the lack of content
-
Disagree 1/10
-
As a life long Star Wars fan, I can say I strongly disagree. He over rated it unfortunately.
-
This game wasn't made for gamers. Certainly not for ones who give a shit about any of that. It is made for casual shooter players and Star Wars fans and if I was a casual I would love this game. Let's be honest, we the hardcore gamers, are the minority. Most people who will buy games like battlefront are not. Honestly most console owners are not HC gamers. They may play a lot and might consider themselves gamers which is fine. I'm speaking more to people who have intimate knowledge of gaming culture. In conclusion, I don't care what Angry Joe says
-
Edited by THUNDERCHILD: 12/3/2015 12:22:10 PMi have yet to disagree with any of his reviews. if the "angry" gamer rage thing annoys you, ignore it, its just his gimmick, but he's always spot on and addresses every issue. battlefront is a disappointment. the only nice thing i can say about it is the music/sound effects are great and the endor map is the best looking jungle in any multiplayer map ever. other than that it feels like playing less than half of a primitive, re skinned 2005 game.

I normally respect Joe as both a critic and a true gamer, but lately his biased fanboy side is starting to show. His Halo 5 review was filled with moments where he would outright ignore gameplay and instead focus on how he hates microtransactions, as well as more than a few moments where he insulted 343 for doing something that he somehow didn't know they were going to do. Like really Joe, you somehow never found out they weren't adding splitscreen? But I digress. His Fallout 4 review was very good, showing that he can still be an actual critic who doesn't let their emotions get the better of them. Then his Battlefront review came out. Let me just show you something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3VvqsO77qQ This is Joe and Joe reacting to the Star Wars VII trailer. Now, go to 32:10 on Joe's Battlefront review. https://youtu.be/Malmvi6GwDA Now Joe suddenly thinks that Battlefront will release yearly, alongside the movies. Again we see a strange trend of Joe's surprising lack of research, as well as strange contradictions. In the first video, Joe is extremely, yet cautiously excited. Yet in the review, Joe seems to have no hope in Ea nor Disney. http://www.denofgeek.us/movies/star-wars/241723/full-star-wars-movie-release-calendar Reading this article, there will technically be a new Star Wars film every year, however, this is not true if you're just looking at the main anthology films. There were more than a few moments in this review that felt like Joe had done a lack of research, or had just let his bias towards EA as well as his love of the original Battlefront games get in the way of giving this game a fair review. Like I said, I usually like Joe's reviews and respect him as a gamer and a critic, but lately he's been much more biased and has acted more like a raving hater/fanboy than an actual critic. Because of this, I will have to start trusting his reviews less until he can be more professional when he tells people what to spend their hard-earned money on, because I don't want to avoid a potentially great game because Joe whines about how it isn't as good as its predecessors.
-
I wonder how it's even possible for players to have reached lvl 50 in Battlefronts 2nd day of release. I saw alot of Shadow Troopers and Scout Troopers. I've had the game since release and I just reached lvl 23.
-
Joe always has a negative attitude towards every game he reviews
-
Holy crap that was a long video. I don't like to make assumptions or side with anything till I've seen it for myself and the OP is right. He does make a lot of valid points, I personally would of enjoyed it way more if they just took battlefront 2, gave it the graphics of this game and just sold it again. I'd pay for it.
-
It's Angry Joe... so 5/10 means he loved it!
-
He gives it 5/10, average, and then you go on to apparently agree yet you call it bad? Fix up lad.
-
Edited by DOTx3: 12/1/2015 2:51:57 AMIsn't 5/10 good for angry joe? I have never seen him give anything a good review. Tbh until a few weeks ago I thought his videos were just funny satire reviews. I never took them seriously but were always funny.
-
I already knew what the game was gonna be and I loved it. It's the game I go to for giant battles and light sabers I mean if I want pve I'll play fallout 4 you can't complain that much you aren't appreciating what they actually put into the game.
-
Joe can be annoying, but his reviews are awesome and accurate in my opinion
-
I think 5 is too high. I would give it a 4 (below average).
-
I stopped watching AJ long time ago, but he is really accurate in what he said. I played the beta and then EA access (5 days before release), game main issues didn't change, lots of servers disconnections, unbalanced pvp, bad spawn points and it doesn't feel as a complete game, multiplayer gets old and boring very fast.
-
After this review, they lost a potential customer. I knew EA would ruin it and after watching this review, I am glad I didn't buy this shitty game after all.
-
Looks and sounds like Star Wars.... Gameplay wise it's pretty bland. The 2 year development cycle ruined what could have been. Bf2 is just better all around and its 10 years old.
-
Bought the game at midnight release for $15 because of Gamestops trade-in system. As a gamer for about 15 years now, I'm a huge fan of the Battlefront reboot. The arcade style game remains fresh for me, pushing 30+ hours and at level 41, as long as you keep rotating what game mode you're playing. Even my girlfriend and I spend hours on survival mode collecting stars, it's fantastic. Now, I can I understand why some fans have been let down by the new game, but I don't think they know to look at this game as an investment. Honestly though just go redbox the game. Create your own opinion. By definition, a critics job is to criticize.
-
I'd give it a three honestly. It has nothing of what made the old battlefront so good.
-
It's just a money grab by EA. They took what should of been an amazing game, and shat on it. We have all seen that before.
-
I agree with most except these: "No prequels" haha ok that's the dumbest complaint I've ever heard. With Star Wars rebels and episode 7 coming out it makes sense to keep it near the original trilogy. "Minimal vehicles" ok I guess we must be playing different games "11 primary weapons" while I think a larger arsenal is good I feel 11 is fine. Better 11 weapons than 45 useless weapons nobody uses "No campaign" in a multiplayer focused game like this maybe that's a good thing. Better no campaign than a bad one. Remember titanfall?
-
Wait it has single player?
