Something you should see...

You arrive at the tower, you notice you haven't spawned in the normal spot and you have your gun with you too. This would be players first experience in a 'Defense' event at the tower. Enemies would spawn in where guardians would normally spawn and guardians would spawn before the IB Door. You'd have to stop the enemies from advancing and if they reach a certain destination (Maybe everyone gets sent to orbit if they reach it??) Also, those saying what if they don't want to fight; you can go to the reef or just avoid the fight. Rewards would be given to everyone after killing all the enemies. This would be really cool if EVERYONE in the tower pitched in on this and helped slay whatever tries to breach the tower. Instead of us going to the enemies, for once they would try attacking us. Showing that the enemy is capable of attacking too. I would assume that a notice would appear on everyone's screen at the start of this 'Defense' and would last till all of the enemies are killed or before they reach a destination at the tower on each server. Leave feedback and let's hope Bungie sees this!

The point of the tower is a hub to get your shit in the vault and buy items. Not to play in. Now let's just say you finally got enough of whatever for the item you wanted, 6 minutes before the reset and this happens? Perhaps I'd support this if you mentioned an option to not participate. You said we could go to the reef, but the reef doesn't have Vanguard. The reef doesn't have the Speaker, nor the Gunsmith, or Eris Morn, Tess Everis, Amanda Holliday, the kiosks, the Crucible or the factions, now does it?

  • 16 people in one fight in Destiny? The lag would make an ESO keep battle look buttery smooth. But good idea.

    • There was also a thread a long while back where someone suggested that a raid-size group starts a mission. Then something happens prior to landing such that the team gets split up into groups and are separated on the map. The groups would need to fight back to a common point at which point the team fights the final boss.

    • Not a terrible idea... That said, it will NEVER happen. Bungie is way too stubborn to add game-changing (aka enhancing) content like this.
