A matter of Swag (Class Items)
I'm a hunter, I pride myself on how good I look as I'm getting throwing knife kills or jumping around like a shotgun ballerina in the crucible. I've been collecting the newer cloaks and some are alright but most of the best looking cloaks are from Y1. Why did we have to leave y1 class items behind? They aren't giving any insane stat bonuses. They aren't are OP (unless you are talking in a fashion sense, then yes it's unfair how superior they are). I'm sure the other classes feel the same about their butt flaps and their arm bands. So would it be possible that one day we could infuse our y1 class items up to y2 standards? I would really like to rock my AOS#Cryptid Cloak while taking on the kings fall raid. Any feedback is appreciated
(Late edit but thanks Bungie for bringing back those y1 items! Really felt great having my favorite cloaks again!)

class items should never had had gameplay impact in the first place. they were perfect the way they were before. are you a minimalist? then wear makeshift scarf. are you frabjulous? then wear that bright and colorful six coyotes! do you want holographic pixels or green fire on your armband? or do you want to brag about your loyalty to the queen? it gave players the option to express themeselves with complete and total freedom. are the new class items bad? no, im enjoying my Taniks cloak, and am lusting after an arc psion cloak, but i shouldn't be forced to wear a new cloak when i came to be known by my shadowsmith cloak. its not a matter of infusion either, its a matter of customization and freedom! (personally I blame the people that complained that class items did nothing! duh they do nothing, its a piece of cloth hanging from your butt!!) bungie plx remove class items light/defense values! (and stat bonuses: redistribute those to the other items. the weapon focus or vanguard rep gains are fine as they do very little anyways)
