I don't think many of you understand. The "well it's RNG, deal with it or stop playing" brigade. You people are utter morons, a significant part of weekly events have literally no point to them. The XP/Rep buff is gone and the drops are still shit. The nightfall is 90% a complete waste of time. Yet this is ok to you?
Edit: People still don't get it, you can just BUY three of coins. Why perform a weekly activity when it's going to give you easily obtained consumables? What is the point in making it a nightfall at all when you get better gear from just doing heroic strikes. Consumables shouldn't be in the loot table, neither should strange coins unless it's going to be a lot.

I'd rather have the coins. Two nightfall and got 300 lvl ghosts. Did the crucible weekly and got a 303 ghost. I've gotten 4 ghosts from the raid thats higher. On a side note....selling 300+ lvl ghosts...jk

I got 11 "Three of Coins." Why is that a reward? I can buy that, literally, every single week from Xur. Every single week. I can't buy 295+ gear anywhere. That's what I want. I would have settled for engrams.

My rewards were two legendary weapons, and one piece of armor, all with light values higher than 300 (for instance, I got legendary titan gauntlets at 310 light). So in my case, these were really amazingly good drops, as they pushed at least one character to 301 light, without any raid completions (disclosure: I have one raid weapon, a 308 sniper from the Warpriest, but I've never gone farther than that in the raid). I'm pretty sure that's an unusually good series of rewards. It also is much more beneficial for someone on the edge of 300 than for a Guardian higher than that. I'm almost curious if the higher-light stuff will drop for lower-light guardians [i]more[/i] often. But, I will say that the rewards I saw during this week's nightfall were far and away better than those from previous nightfalls I did after TTK.

I just got 19 strange coins. I also got a 294 apple of discord. Maybe my light was too high and it just gives me crap. Good to hear people in the 290s are getting 300+ stuff tho.

But the raised the gear you get by 10..... so 240-250?.... a solid 300 would be nice.... kind of floating around 292-293.....

Seem like good rewards to me. It's RNG and they are more in line with what Nightfalls used to be. It is easy loot. What would be nice is the experience boost and/or the faction rep boost. What you want is a guaranteed 310 exotic or weapon right? There would be no point to continue playing if you get all the stuff within 3-4 weeks. Coins are good now because you can;t get them in the heroics and you can use them to but 3oC, which is like a 15-20% chance of exotic, far and away better than an exotic chance otherwise.

The farming wasn't even that worrying because of that to them. There isn't anything in their rewards pool that's special. So three of coins is basically worthless because not only are you not going to get much new your also rolling rng 3 times. Once to get the coins, once or a couple dozen sometimes to get an engram to drop, and again to hopefully get a useful 310. The rewards are so disassociated from the nightfall and influenced by rng it isn't fullfilling at all to get 3 of coins. People want a guaranteed satisfying rewards immediately from the nightfall. Constant disappointment is going to happen even if technically 10 coins could be worth more than just an exotic right away in the end because you feel shafted right away. Taking away the legendary engrams is also a huge offsetting nerf that seems like an overall decrease in rewards on most of the rng spectrum

So just done nightfall. I got wait for it ............ 19 strange coins. On my hunter....... I know amazing right!!!!! And................ 12 3 of coins and 2 strange coins on my warlock. Nightfall still isn't worth doing in my opinion.

But it's just RNG because both times I did it, both members of the fire team got exotic drops. 3oC did make it for it though, awarding me with a 310 sky burners annex from golgoroth.

6 RepliesI found it interesting the raised the chance for legendary drops on the reward screen by 10% and then completely removed the chance for legendary engram rewards from boss death. That's not a buff, that's a nerf...

I got a 294 Rocket launcher first nightfall this week and was not happy because I have the same rocket at 296...on the same character. 2nd run i got a 310 hand cannon with litc. Nice. 3rd run I got a 300 ghost with vex glimmer. Nice. The other 2 got 10 3oC. If it was me I would be mad at that reward. Coins should not be in the loot table...strange or otherwise. When is the last time anyone ran the nightfall and said "Gee, I hope I get coins!"? If you do I'm sorry, but there are many other things you can do that are easier for coins.

But you can but any gear if you wait long enough. You are playing the wrong game if you hate RNG. As much as I hate getting strange coins or motes, which is often, I enjoy the time spent because it gives me something to talk about. Also you can not tell me you have never got one single drop that was useful or amazing. On the off chance you are that guy I am sorry. My friend just deleted his titan in an effort to get a better drop rate. I doubt it was the reason but he says it has been better for him.

I'd rather have the 3oC instead of the 285 ghost I got. Anyway you're right, consumables is BS. Before TTK I wasn't really disappointed by the loot if it was crap as there still was 500 faction reputation and the weekly XP buff. Now it's just 90 wasted minutes for three characters.

Well at least they doubled the 3 of coins drop from just 5, I got 11. I got lucky with a 310 claws (infused) and a 306 chest with perks i actually liked for my hunter

I got a 309 legendary chest for my warlock and my friend got a 310 Monte Carlo. I'd say they definitely improved loot table. But it's still RNG, so people are bound to get rewards they aren't happy with. I'm always disappointed when I get 10 strange coins, until I need them later in the week haha.

Yeah relieving 10 three of coins is about equal to 14 strange coins I guess so I suppose it's not the worst reward
