It was a bright sunny day on the city-plane of Ravnica. People went about their day doing their activities. As you wondered the city, you find yourself in an open, circular area that is no doubt a market place of some sorts. What catches your eye, however, is the split second shadow across the ground. You look to the source and see a red colored dragon that oddly has a humanoid body structure that stands about nine feet tall. It lands at the front of a massive gate belonging to one of the guilds. https://s.yimg.com/fz/api/res/1.2/dBYUU4H_jOJWODfJQBKbLQ--/dz00ODA7Y2M9NjA0ODAwO2FwcGlkPXNyY2hkZA--/http://tse2.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.M0c2726cf781415dc5cb3a76f311be1fao0&pid=15.1&P=0&w=300&h=300
It will be rare occasions that I make posts like this
• Well, let's get this over with, Vellath thought to himself as he landed in front of the Simic guildgate. The Simic had sent him a message telling him to meet with some biomancers for an experiment they cooked up. He really hoped he wasn't about to be injected with crab DNA... Or anythings DNA. He approached the threshold where two Merfolk guards were standing on each side of the gate. At the sight of him, they crossed their axes, blocking the entrance to the guildhall, Zameck. When he got close enough, he held up his hand, showing a token of the Simic Signet. At it's sight, the guards raised their weapons, allowing him to pass. The signet was one way for people not affiliated with the guild to enter, but the guards always knew who were given them. He entered Zamick. Time to see what these biomancers wanted.

  • As you pass through the guildgate, you notice that algae cakes the corners and of the walls and ceiling and kelp strung across most of the walls. As you walk further, you notice that hall breaks off into two directions. At the same time, an elf appears from the right side escorted by two hybrid creatures with crab-like legs, while the upper part is a gray colored torso and a head that looks like a hammerhead shark holding axes. They continue down the hall on your left.

You look down the hallway where the elf passed, but they are the only ones in there. You look right where they came from. As you do, someone literally runs into you. You're not fazed by it at all, but whatever ran into you was knocked onto the ground. You look down to see another elf, shorter than the one you previously saw. Instead of robes like that one wore, this elf was wearing a green and blue skin-tight suit. He quickly gets back on his feet and does a short but deep bow. "Apologize sir." He quickly runs past you. You return to your search, but then you hear voices down the hall. "There you are my apprentice," You look over your shoulder and see the elf guarded by the crab- shark hybrids. "Sorry master, I had a bit of a problem with that Krasis, but everything is under control," said the elf that ran into you. "That is quite alright. But we need to hurry before our guest gets to where he is needed." "The dragon?" "Yes, the dragon." They turn the corner to their right.

You follow them through and walk onto a bridge, crowded with humans and elves, but not enough to deter you from shadowing the two elves and their escort. "So the experiment is ready?" The apprentice asked his master. "Yes, all it needs now is to be tested. That is why we called our friend... Ah, there he is now." The elf in robes pointed up at the sky. You follow his gaze and see the same dragon fly over the large body of water below you. It flew a good distance before landing in a clearing. "We best pick up our pace, hurry now." They begin to go into a faster pace, nearly into a run.

30 minutes later Vellath stood in a large expanse of grassland. He was expecting to be greeted when he arrived, only to find no' one around. So he waited. Now here he was, still waiting, and still no' one came. And he was losing patience fast. He heard a door slide open. He looked up to see an elf in robes, no doubt a Master Biomancer, and another elf in a tight suit with the guilds colors on it. They both had an escort of the crab-shark hybrids, that he learned the name of during his last visit, called Shamblesharks. The older elf finally spoke. "Master Vellath, thank you for accepting our invitation." "Delighted," he responded with a dead-pan expression. "So, why am I here?" The corners of the elf's mouth peeled back to make a ridiculously large smile. "I'm so glad you asked that. We called you here to test our latest creation!" Splendid. "Alright. Where is it?" "Why it's in there with you." He heard the flapping of wings coming from behind him. He turned to see a seagull land on a low rock, then it squawked at him. He wasn't amused whatsoever, and he gladly expressed that. He looked up at the elf biomancers. "You're joking right? You made me come out here," he turned to the seagull and pointed at it, "just to test a damn bird-" In a flash, a long tongue struck the bird and reeled it to where the tongue came from. He turned to the source and- His wings drooped a little. "You gotta be kidding me." He was looking at a toad. Except this toad was twice the size of an elephant, had four eyes, and a row of large sharp teeth. It consumed the bird in one loud snap. "No, Vellath, you're here to test that. We took the DNA of a toad and a crocodile, spliced them together, enhanced it's growth exponentially, and made it to where it's more. Carnivorous." The things eyes fixed on him. "May I introduce, Crocanura!" 'Crocanura' let out a loud roar and leaped at him.

By the time the giant carnivorous toad landed, Vellath had already taken action and had taken to the skies. Except that only seemed to be a slight advantage, because it seemed no matter how high he got, it's tongue could still reach him. He folded in his wings as he went into a rapid free-fall. That's when Crocanura took its chance. It went into its crouch position, readying itself to leap when he got close enough to the grou- It leapt up at him after one second of getting ready, and it was getting way too close for comfort. How was that possible?! He had to still be at least one-hundred feet in the air! He opened his wings to their full length. But he wasn't slowing down quick enough. He made a split second decision and angled himself to where he was gliding toward Crocanura while it was still in the air. "Come on; do it!" he said through clenched teeth; his chest glowing a bright red at the same time. When it came in range, it opened it's mouth, getting ready to strike him with it's long tongue. Except this was what he was waiting for. Now! He angled himself vertically, it was now or never. With the perfect opportunity, he opened his maw and shot a fireball into Crocanura's open mouth. He flew out of the way as it's mass came hurtling at him. Then it's heavy mass hit the ground. Hard. He landed shortly after, and just about collapsed before taking a knee and propping himself on his arm. To his surprise and disappointment, neither his attack nor the fall killed the massive toad-crocodile hybrid. But it did cough out a large amount of smoke. It went over to the edge of the water, probably to put out the fire in it's mouth. But a giant serpent like fish came out of the water and latched onto the entire body of Crocanura before dragging it down into the water with it. Other than his quick but heavy breaths, everything was silent. Then the sound of clapping hands broke the silence. He glanced up to see the Master Biomancer applauding him, while the apprentice was typing rapidly on a data pad of his. "Excellent, excellent! That was spectacular, Master Vellath! What an amazing test!" exclaimed the Biomancer, showing absolutely no regard to his creation's demise. Well, to Simic, there was always room for improvement, so it shouldn't have been shocking. "We have a lot of work ahead of us. Enjoy the rest of your stay!" With that, the two elves turned and left, followed by their Shambleshark guard. Now he was left alone in the field. The spikes on his back nestled down closer to his back as he calmed down. This time he did collapse. Thankfully there was a rock behind him to catch him. He hadn't flown like that in a while. Was he slacking? Probably, but he didn't want to think about that at the moment. Right now, he relaxed and closed his eyes.

  • "Thanks." he said aloud. Vellath was still somewhat passed out, and every muscle in his body, specifically his wings, ached tremendously. But it hopefully wouldn't take long for- Wait a minute. He opened his eyes and saw a hooded figure standing in the field with him. There wasn't one Simic mage that wore cloaks or anything of the sort. Plus, the figure showed no signs of life. A deep rumbling growl escaped his throat as he looked at the figure with a death-glare; his chest glowing at the same time.

  • ... Yeah he wasn't entirely convinced yet. His chest continued to glow brighter, and he still had his eyes locked on the hooded figure. "Do you have proof so I not thinking that you're apart of who I'm thinking you work for?"

It really didn't help his case, showing he was a Planeswalker, it really only made him more cautious. But in a way, he didn't act like a Dimir agent. Maybe he was alright. But he still wasn't going to trust him to any degree. His chest started to dim as he calmed somewhat, but it didn't go out either. He was going to be ready if this figure truly was from Dimir. "Fine. But just know, if you pull anything; I will not hesitate to kill you."

  • He couldn't help but chuckle a bit, which only sounded like a series of rumbling noises coming from his throat. "That, was one of the many hundreds of projects of the Simic Combine. This guild is comprised of biomancers or ones to be."

He raised a scaly eyebrow. "I would assume because you're a construct, a walking artifact. Yes, I can tell. This guild doesn't work with constructs, only people in or have some history of affiliation with the guild."
