So I decided to mess around with my relatively new Titan in crucible, seeing what all the sunbreaker fuss is about, and for a change put on the Defender sub class.. and oh boy, it destroys. It is a class that compliments a weapon focused play style, most of my kills come from my pulse. The super, melee and grenade are not weapons in the way a sunbreaker's are, they compliment your gun. A fast charging ward that grants shelter and an over shield to the whole team, a melee that doesn't waste on only a hit and grants a recharging shield and a grenade that shuts players down, leaving them hopping around helplessly.
Mixed with maximum armor, this class can outlast most players with ease, support the whole team, and protect the user. It is refreshing and fun to do so well while not spamming hammers or shooting a 1-hit shot cross map.
It's a shame I don't see more Defender Titans in the games I play. Any love for Defenders in PvP?

No back up plans year 2 version. Primary of your choice and a good shotgun wrecks in crucible dude. I run an intellect strength build with the shotgun kills activating my force barrier it makes you a tank. The suppressor grenades I use sparingly only when I see a sunbreaker golden gun or stormcaller super to shut them down. I run blessing of light on my bubble and never stand in the bubble u put it near choke points where my team can use the blessing of light to engage enemies. Not to mention it drops 2 orbs on activation which helps my team charge supers. Its a ridiculous class not many people know how to counter it since its so rare to see it. Supers charge so fast as well since you get support points when your team pass through the shield and get kills. I've had games where I've had a bubble constantly on b and my team pick up the orbs and just super non stop.

Try suppressor grenades with it to

Just did 3 inferno rumbles and won them all. No back up plans, bad juju, weapons of light. Good stuff Also, weapons of light and strings of curses?! Yep!
-
Meh the super kind of relies on your enemies not having their supers which I don't like. So many other supers just straight up wreck you when you're in the bubble
-
Been trying it out recently. I'm liking in. Especially with the new no backup plans

I actually loved running it. I still do on occasion bc I like the grenades. It's fun and not just a no skill easy super kill.
-
It depends on the game mode to be honest. It's most useful in object be based games like control
-
It does if people know how to use it

Edited by smoke shinobi: 10/10/2015 12:25:16 PMI love my defender on PvP! Such a BEAST Shotgun + armour of light = kills for days

Gonna bust out infinite bubble strategy on the new guys in iron banner... Just for a match or two

When I play titan I play defender people are so silly in cruicble control. If you see a titan in a bubble don't do in unless you have super
-
Too bad Helm of Saint didn't make it to year 2. It was a lot of fun to use in Control and Salvage.

I also prefer defenders over the other two in crucible. I, however, use a cheaper set up. Weapons of Light with icebreaker means unlimited one body shots. But titan is my least favoured class so I don't use him much.

I play defender on pvp objective based games.
