I never will understand why we have to grind for weapon parts! It's stupid and tedious to grind for them. I know some of you probably have more than enough, but some of us are running low on weapon parts. I hate to grind for engrams. Plus you don't get much from dismantling weapons you don't need anyways. So I think Bungie should really just have banshee sell it 150 or 200 a piece for a pack of 20. Just something. I rather grind for glimmer than for weapon parts.
What do you guys think?
Bump and like for support!
Edit: Thanks for all the bumps! Keep bumping this post to the top, so we can start buying these weapon parts instead farming for it.
Edit: I really appreciate the bump! Thank you all! As Cozmo already mentioned below that it's been added to the wish list and that's progress already. Now all we can do is hope for Bungie to add it in the game somewhere near in the future updates. Keep up the bumps and likes to keep this thread trending.
Edit: Wow! I didn't think my post would actually get this much attention. We've officially reached 100 comments. That's awesome! It looks like we're seeing more positives than negatives, which proves the majority supports this movement. Keep up the likes and bumps to keep this thread trending! As always thanks for the support!
Edit: For the ones commenting below about how we should play the game as it is and grind for it. I can understand that. Is just that most of us don't have that kind of time to grind out for weapon parts all day when some of us have a job and daily errands to attend to and not to sit around grinding strikes or the court oryx just for weapon parts when there's a lot more you can do in the game then just trying to obtain weapon parts all the time. You get what I'm saying? It shouldn't be all about looking for weapon parts.
It would be nice if Bungie can implement something as simple as this into the game.
I think a lot of us would appreciate it and will make it easier for everyone to upgrade or infuse their weapon of choice without worrying about how we don't have enough weapon parts to open that last perk on my gun because now I have to go grind for more.
I also saw some comments on here stating that they never seem to run into this kind of problem. I get that, but not everyone has that kind of amount of weapon parts after HOW dropped. Trust me I use to have a lot of weapon parts prior to HOW, but my inventory took a hit after all that reforging.
To put it simply, if Bungie can have banshee sell weapon parts it will only benefit us all in the long run considering this is a ten year plan. At least we know it will be available for purchase when we run out of it. I mean, c'mon, everyone's bound to run out of weapon parts sooner or later. So I say have banshee sell them. Also it will be there for the ones that need it. If you have more than enough weapon parts to spare, I would say, "Good for you!" on your part. I wish I had that problem. Seriously. That means you won't have to spend your glimmers for weapon parts.
I will say though, you'll be glad he's selling weapon parts when you run out. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. Again bump and like if you support this movement!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will let the devs know you want this added to the game. I'll also add it to the #CommunityWishList.

I agree. Not enough weapon parts to go around. Maybe even increase the chance of green and blue weapon orbs to drop more often to make weapon parts. Overall, in all the in game activities. I notice they don't drop so often. Especially with this leveling system that requires consistent weapon upgrading. Didn't somebody on the other side think about that before implementing this leveling system.

I've only deleted half of my Year one weapons and I have over enough weapon parts lol.

Bump!!

Roni the robot frame at Tower Hanger sells armor parts for materials at a 1 to 1 conversion rate.
-
Edited by Fools Meta: 10/10/2015 6:35:58 AMYou can buy Uncommon weapons from the Gunsmith, also from the Vanguard Quartermaster. Essentially, Glimmer = Weapon Parts.

Edited by Gunship: 10/10/2015 2:10:36 AMBump -- The problem is that Infusion uses too many weapon parts I think.

Bump great idea

Bump!!!!!!! We been saying this for months!

Bump - my support. It started with the wolves dlc. Weapon parts went scarce from then on!

Edited by eternal_napalm: 10/10/2015 1:29:11 AMBigtime. I'm sick of never having any but having a ton of glimmer.

This. I've dropped down to 0 parts on my hunter already and have started pulling from my other characters to keep up. I had hundreds on just that one character before TTK and I haven't been wasting them. Hell I've even been equipping a bunch of blues after I do strikes and spamming motes into them so I get a few more parts when I break them down.

Edited by DeltaZulu77: 10/9/2015 6:00:35 PMYes he does. But not straight up glimmer. 2 armor materials = 1 weapon part.

Do court of oryx for about an hour every few days and you will be scrooge mcduck-ing in weapons parts and armor.

What a great idea! Pity its older than the game itself. and cozmo replied! oh man these forum are a massive massive , joke. Kudos to you though sir you got one of the much vaunted 'oh this issue is completely irrelrvent or been unacknowledged for over a year' cozmo replies. Most of us cant get anything close to that.

So you want the gunsmith to sell faction rep?

Edited by Sarges24: 10/9/2015 6:49:21 AMa friend and i were talking about this the other night. Now that engrams are all too often decoded to Motes and Coins and the fact that everything we do now from leveling to infusing items cost parts/materials it's incredibly difficult to maintain the items we use. We should receive more per dismantle or the gunsmith should sell them for perhaps a few different currencies. Marks, Motes, Coins. Same can be said for Armor Materials. On the flip side once everything gets leveled in a few weeks before we know it we'll be drowning in Weapon Parts and/or Armor Materials again.Needless to say Bungie keeps F'n with stuff for no reason and hosing us in the process. They really need to set up a system and stick with it having said that. A friendly tip to everyone short. When you're not leveling up weapons or armor put a low lvl blue on, level that up and receive more mats from it when breaking it down. Mind you that simply filling the circles is suffice and you don't have to actually purchase the upgrades. Still not enough but it is a slightly helpful when in need
