Regarding Guardian Protocol...

Guardians, Commander Zavala, my Vanguard mentor, has asked me to address you today with this following message. As I speak to you, copies are being distributed throughout the tower. You are responsible for briefing your fireteam members if they are not present for this announcement. It is expected that, as September draws to a close, we abide by the statements below. It has come to the Vanguard's attention that many of the Guardians residing in the tower originated in times where it was customary to recognize Halloween, a pre-Golden Age day of celebration. The Vanguard, after careful consideration, has elected to approve of these celebrations among Guardians, but would also like to bring a few points to light. -First, the Vanguard would like to address a growing number of complaints it has received from the City council. Evidently patrols have responded to sightings of Hive in the City recently, only to discover that these "enemies" were, in fact, Hive armor stuffed with old rags. As few if any civilians would have access to these materials, we can only assume this is the work of Guardians. The Vanguard urges the Tower's Guardians to cease this unprofessional behavior at once, and would like to remind us all that we exist to protect the city and provide morale- not to collect our enemy's gear for a cheap scare. Also Amanda Holliday would like to add that she has noticed her dwindling supply of cleaning rags, and that the perpetrators will be caught, immortal or not. The Vanguard advises against any more stealing. -Secondly, face-altering devices (Jackolytes in Guardian parlance) are not to be worn during mission briefings. Experience has proven time and again that glowing, orange, globular Acolyte heads only serve as a distraction that, while fun, detract from the professionalism expected during these briefings. Save it for the plaza, please. -Third, flying ships of at least partial Hive origin at rooftop level without an active IFF transponder is grounds for suspension of ship-piloting privileges for at least a week. Yesterday TAW 1 was scrambled following reports of a hive invasion force. The incident was cleared once our pilots got a visual on the crafts- several ships based on the designs recovered during the raid on Crota- but nonetheless- weapons were hot. Without quick thinking, things could've gotten much farther out of hand. -Fourth, on the subject of ships. Orange and other colored smoke will no longer be permitted in the final approach vectors to the Tower hangar. Festive as it may be, we still have Guardians who prefer to make the final approach VFR. Smoke tends to make the last leg very difficult to see, and we've received complaints from Guardians regarding this poor visibility. Remember- it's easy to rematerialize a Guardian. Ships on the other hand... -Fifth, the Blustery Brew has requested that Titans no longer deploy wards of dawn within the premises for the purpose of "telling ghost stories." This goes without saying. Both the City and Tower are meant to be super-free zones, and Guardians are expected to conduct themselves accordingly. On this subject the Vanguard wishes to remind Hunters as well that invisibility, while not outright banned in the tower, should not be used to write disturbing messages on the mirrors in the shower. It was funny last week- now we're getting complaints. Zavala would like to add that as long as we follow these guidelines, Halloween can be a lasting tradition here in the Tower. Enjoy yourselves as we move into the month of October, guardians, but never forget your decorum. As a personal note, I will leave this list by the bounty board. Feel free to add to it, if your Vanguard mentors have anything else to say. Let's keep this tradition alive, Guardians! -Vidar Tysus
