Soooo, is Eris evil or what?
So I'm sure I'm not the only one that is a little suspicious about Eris Morn and her recent appearances in TTK. Hell even Cayde-6 has a dialogue about himself not trusting her...
So community, does anyone have any theories on Eris Morn and what her whole deal is ? Feel free to share opinions !

You know how oryx has 2 sisters well here is my theory us guardians never found out how Eris really got out of the hellmouth all her fireteam members died but she didn't doesn't that seems strange you anger a god but doesn't kill you very strange if you ask me here is what I think on how she survived down there and came back and why she said my queen Btw Eris is a human not awoken Ok here goes as her fireteam members die she must've came by a shrine which must've been one of oryx sisters and made a pact with one of them she sacrificed her light in exchange for vengeance for her whole fireteams death but she knows she can't do it alone so she turns into a hive member and hide in shadows but her vision starts to lose its light and fade to the darkness she starts to praise the sister and then the doors open to the outside she can finally start on her quest for vengenace she asks the guardians for help which they do killing crota and oryx when and as she goes to the sword and says my queen she must be referring to the sister as in IT IS DONE IVE FINALLY GOTTEN VENGEANCE FOR MY TEAM that's why In the missions she always talks about her fireteam and how they died but certain enemies or things so my theory is Eris will most likely backstab us not because she is evil but because the sister will control her Yep that's my theory :) Eris ain't Evil

Theres theories floating around she is toax of the hive before they were called the hive. Toax opposes the hive and has been trying to stop them since oryx and his sisters became gods. Atleast thats what i understood of toax from the book of sorrows.

She surely has ulterior motives that may not be related to helping the city. But I doubt she is a "bad guy".

1 ReplyI read a while ago that she may be aligned with oryxs sister (forgot the name) and that she planned crota death in order to bring the more powerful oryx to fight the guardian's and lose. So sword logic would make the sister stronger than oryx and take his position as leader of the hive. So many different angles this games lore could go I'm excited for year 10 to find out if the traveler is the darkness or some other entity or its just some guys dream like lost :p

3 RepliesI think at the end of the story when she says you were right my queen. I think she meant one of oryxs sisters not the queen of the reef. When you read the grimoire some of them say something about us killing oryxs and leaving his throne open and not filling it.

1 ReplyWell I feel there is two sides to this. Her knowledge has helped us, but for what purpose? She helped us kill Crota, only to summon Oryx. She saved us from the funeral, using hive magic from a exiled guardian. Yet only used it once, she didn't use it when you got the empty crystal, only once you held Crota. Why would she feel it more important to save you then? Unless she wants that soul for herself. You only need a whisper, so why did she want more? She made you ascendant to kill oryx, but she made us part hive. She gave us will breaker, but who knows what she did with it before.

She's definately got an agenda. I wonder if this "agenda" is the real reason why her team went into the pit. Or could it be she met up with "her Queen" after the fact for a specific mission? Does she truly hate the Hive, or is she toppling the hierarchy for someone/thing else? Who knows! [spoiler]Probably gonna be sold in a DLC for Destiny 2[/spoiler]

Eris isnt non trusted by cayde no more than cayde mis trusts ikora. Cayde doesnt really trust any one tho. But then he did tell holiday his plan before anyone else (even the guardian he was sending to do it) At end when eris was like My queen you were right the guardian was the key (Key to oryx's downfall in that case, the crystal from oryx blade is then used to craft swords for guardian)
