Before you post your biased and pre-determined response to this thread, hear me out. Currently the Republican debates are going on, and a lot of the Republican candidates are looking very sharp. This isn't the same type of debates (aka clown circus) as four years ago, sans Trump, and there are many attractive options on the Republican side who will appeal to a large variety of Republicans and fed-up independents.
On the Democrat side of the political spectrum, it is seeing a lot of turmoil. Clinton, the top candidate option, is seen as largely unfavorable by the common American and is losing a lot of ground to the very socialist based candidate, Bernie Sanders. Now, Sanders has a large backing, yet he has almost no chance to win the presidency. When it comes close to voting season, things like economic principles and plans get a lot more scrutiny, and Sanders is just too ludicrous in principle to appeal to Conservative Democrats, Independents, or any Republicans. The only answer for the Democrats is Joe Biden, who Democrats/Clinton Foundation have actively pressured into not running in fear of competition to Clinton.
When it comes to voting, voter turnout is incredibly important. Right now, there are a lot of registered Republicans who do not want another 4-8 years under a Democratic candidate like Sanders or Clinton, and Democrats are not going to have the ambition for Clinton like they did Obama. As stated before, Sanders will not have the backing of a large chunk of Democrats who are not extremely progressive and are instead economically conservative. There is not confidence in someone like Clinton, and it will be an extremely rocky road for any Democrat hoping to be the president.
In my own opinion, a new Democratic candidate needs to rise and take the reigns before the window closes, because right now the Democratic Party is doing its best 2008/2012 Republican Circus impression.
TL;DR: Sanders and Clinton will not have a strong backing, Republicans have viable options this election who people will want to vote in.

Edited by TayumiAbyss1: 9/23/2015 3:59:34 AMActually Bernie Sanders identifies as independent, but put himself as democratic on the ballot because of America's dumb 2-party system. I myself am also a bit sick of democrats, but that's probably because we've had Obama for too long.
It's a shame because I'm sure he really wanted to help and be a good president, but was too scared of breaking the country if he was too radical.
Then again Sanders might not have endes up with a better chance on the republican ballot, people would have just made a fool of him. He already appeals to the public as a person, but he needs to appeal to people sick of Obama as well.
Please don't vote for Trump :'(
Kasich, Bush, Fiorina, and Rubio are looking to be the most appealing.

Everyone's butthurt that Trump is realistically going to win lol

That's the truth. GO REPUBLICANS

If by sharp, you mean edgy, then I might agree about those debates.

Edited by Mad Max: 9/17/2015 8:02:48 PMHow can you win the White House on a platform that is anti-immigrant, anti-women, anti-gays, anti-poor, anti-education, pro-military?

republicans won't ever win another election until their party values see a drastic change because right now they are the equivalent of radical islamists except instead of sharia law, its bible law
-
Hillary is currently polling to win but that could well (and hopefully will) change.
-
Intelligent wasn't something that came to mind during the debate.
-
Biden could actually do good in the polls if he didn't always stick his foot in his mouth.
-
All of that's also excluding Electoral College shenanigans, of course. I'm also not going to say Trump will be nominated... But it's possible. *inevitable ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)*

Yeezus 2020 XD

They spend the first 15 minutes of that "debate" trash-talking, while Sanders over here hasn't strayed from the problem at hand.

Edited by Britton: 9/17/2015 8:12:24 PMSanders plan is an actual plan. Trump has no plan, and the other Republican candidates are all parrots of the same failed policies that got us where we are today. Trumps answers are always very broad and general, with no actual plan behind them. Not to mention the speech he gave prior to the debate was for a bogus veterans organization that consisted of 1 person that is used to hold and receive cash for his campaign. So its nice to know that he's scamming people using the reputation of veterans. Carson is a brilliant surgeon but severly lacking leadership skills, an understanding of foreign policy, economics, and the constitution. Also, the more scrutiny Bernie's plan recieves the better. It allows people to see exactly how detailed and how much money it actually saves and how much it helps the avg American.

*Looks at republican debates* It's basically just a load of guys and one woman insulting each others looks. These people actually gonna win with that shit? I guess that is what people in the Kardashian era prefer, rather than actually discussing and debating the issues.

I just hope Trump doesn't win.
