WTF! I logged in last night to play around in update 2.0 and found that everything in PvE is just broken and garbage now. The PvP guys are happy because PvP is balanced (a little bit more than it was anyway), but every weapon in the game feels like a total pile of shit in PvE now. What was the logic behind nerfing Perfect Balance and Field Scout into oblivion? The new music is annoying, the new ghost voice is so stupid and snotty - sounds like a 12 year old squeaker, the new sound effects for perk activation sound completely retarded, but the worst thing about the update is that every weapon in the game has been turned into a total steaming pile of crap in PvE content. You needed to balance the Crucible for the small 15% of players who play it, but you needed to do it without completely -blam!-ing up the PvE content that 85% of your players care about the most. You've completely failed. You went full retard, you never go FULL retard! Prior to 2.0 Destiny was fun. I played it every day and absolutely loved my Efrideet's Spear, The Scholar (Adept), Thunderlord, and Fatebringer. Now all of those weapons feel like junk because of the massive nerfs to the perks. There is nothing fun about the game now. The only thing you had going for you was the gameplay - which you just totally screwed up. Year 1 was fun. I became legend and acquired many weapons that were a blast to use. Now the game is completely broken and just trash. Way to go Bungie, you just lost a lifelong fan. Why is Bungie so hell-bent on killing Destiny?

  • If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Guess Bungie has never heard that mantra. There was never anything broken in any of the PvE content in regards to weapon balance. There were just good weapons and bad weapons (actually there were many levels of bad weapons and a few good weapons). The only thing broken in PvE was the 30% damage affect of being one level different than your enemies. I would have been fine with the nerfs to Perfect Balance and Field Scout if it ONLY APPLIED TO PvP CONTENT! But no, they had to just do it across the board and make PvE even worse.

      • They keep saying year one guns are too strong and unbalanced in PvE. Players rip through end game content because it's too easy. The next paragraph then goes into how only a tiny percentage of players do end game content. Which is it Bungie? You can't have it both ways. The only logical explanation is Bungie wants to kill PvE or make it less appealing than PvP. They think PvP is the best bet to keep a large user base even when every poll shows most players prefer PvE and little to no PvP. If they would bring real PvP modes they had in Halo I wouldn't mind but tiny maps of DeathMatches only cater to one segment of players. Most PvE players prefer team-oriented stuff like CTF on huge maps, large teams with vehicles and dynamic environments. If I would want CoD I'd buy that.

        • The only thing that bungie made a effort for and spent lots of attention to detail is the re-do look of Amanda holiday.

I was already on a downslope in interest in the game (perhaps just burnout from too much playtime over the summer), and 2.0 has not really drastically changed that (yet). I checked it out, and I like some of the changes. PvP was certainly more diverse, for instance. PvE...I did a few things, nothing seemed drastically different, but nothing was ridiculously engaging either - I played off and on last night, but nothing kept me glued to the screen. I know that the "ridiculously engaging" stuff is supposed to happen next week but I'm like, "Eh. Sounds cool. Guess I could play for a bit." After an initial burst of excitement because the interface was new and there were new PvP maps and new bounties to go -blam!- around with, I was left with - you guessed it - Destiny.

I've played the v2.0.0 for a week-- it's fantastic. Love 99.5% of everything in it. Finally everything has standard system underneath it. Why you thing it's broken is wacked. Weapons and everything behave the same. If you think the 170 is lower than the 365, you're wrong. They had to change the scale due to a limitation in the game design, so they rescaled everything accordingly. 170 Level weapons work as they always have against the same enemies as they always have. Taken weapons and enemies will be higher-- because they are more powerful and harder. Period.

          • Yeah I don't get it. It's one thing to balance crucible and PvE suffers as a side effect. It's a completely different thing to just nerf PvE into the ground for the hell of it.
