Aesthetics and Armor Model Recycling (i.e. Possible Improvements/Modifications for Tower Vendors)

For the record: This post does not deal with the myriad posts about the planned obsolescence of legendary weapons. It does operate under the notion that armor transmogrification is not viable from the developers' perspective and exists as an alternative. The visual appearance of player characters in games can be a big deal to some players: In essence, we know we can beat our enemies silly. The point is looking good while doing it. Destiny has great potential for this; there exists a sizable amount of armor models in the game. However, through the last two DLCs we've seen old armor models phased out to make way for new ones. Take the Nerigal Savant armor for warlocks in vanilla Destiny for instance: the arrival of The Dark Below effectively banished a rather stylish trench coat into the howling dark. Admittedly, this has been mitigated somewhat by the Tower Faction vendors selling armor with the same base model as those from the previous iteration of the game (for instance, after House of Wolves was released all Faction Vendors sell armor that uses Dark Below models). However, some players may not want "shameless branding" ruining their sense of mystique or flamboyance. I propose then, the following: ALL Tower Vendors (not just Faction but also Crucible/Vanguard vendors) could do one of the following: 1. Armor for sale changes each week, cycling not only between the varying styles but also seeing alterations/adjustments to their statistics (perks & intellect/discipline/strength boosts) to make them more attractive to prospective buyers. -For example, prospective weeks will see a change from vanilla models to Dark Below models in week 2, House of Wolves models in week 3, etc. Perks and statistics modulate on a weekly basis (assuming we don't see Armor reforging). 2. Include all possible armor styles in lump availability. Again, I do feel that statistics and perks should still change on a weekly basis to keep players coming back. -In essence, the vendor offers ALL the possible models simultaneously. Admittedly this could become an issue as the game advances in time. It is key to point out that all the aforementioned items should be on par with one another in terms of defense values - having them stratified only puts players in the same old situation where everyone was wearing Raid armor because it was the best, from a pure statistics standpoint. One could in theory change in the tower, but swapping armor in and out all the time seems nonsensical if the statistics issue can be sidestepped (as in House of Wolves). "Aesthetics is a moral imperative" seems like a nice note to finish on; even if it was scrawled on the wall in blood (Bioshock, anyone?)
