Please help save a fellow Guardians life!

Hello Everyone! First off I just want to express my gratitude to Bungie for creating this game, and all of the guardians that I have played with that make it fun and interesting day after day. It has served as a conduit for me to hang out with one of my best friends even though we live in different cities and have different schedules. Destiny has also allowed me to meet new people and develop new friendships with fellow guardians working toward a common goal (getting gear while kicking rear). A while back I was trying to get a raid group together and form a clan so that we could take on the adventures of VoG and Crota as a team unlocking achievements and grimoire cards along the way. That’s where I met a new friend (Sonny) that joined our clan (The Other Guise) and we started teaming up on Bounties, Weekly Strikes, Nightfalls and Raids. After playing Destiny together for a couple of months, Sonny and I were trying to complete the lamps portion of Crota as a two man team late one evening. While working through that stage of the raid he brought up a sobering subject, one that affects us all at some point in our lives in one form or another… DEATH. He told me that he was diagnosed with a tumor in his brain, more specifically a pineal tumor, and that the doctors had given him anywhere from a couple of months to a year before he would die. So he has been playing Destiny to pass the time and keep his mind off of the fact that he is basically serving out the final months of a death sentence. That information hit me like a Gjallarhorn to the chest and immediately made me wish there was something that I could do to help. He has not mentioned it since, and acts as if everything is normal. We have had a lot of good time’s together taking on the different challenges that Bungie has thrown at all of us. This is where the story gets interesting. A couple of weeks ago while at work, I am cruising through MSN on my lunch break and see this story about a young woman who had a cyst/tumor in her brain that was causing all of this pain and suffering. It turned out she had some twin or something (teeth, hair and bones?) that was in her brain near her pineal gland. The story described a similar situation for this young woman and that she had lost hope in living much longer given the diagnoses. In that story a doctor was named that was actually willing to perform a surgery that no one else would touch and saved her life. Here is the link to that story: http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/woman%E2%80%99s-brain-tumor-turns-out-to-be-%E2%80%98evil-twin%E2%80%99-complete-with-bone-hair-and-teeth/ar-AAbzM0C I sent Sonny this link and asked if he had heard about this Doctor doing this specific surgery. He was so thankful to have received the information and seemed to really have a new found hope on a second chance at life. He has been able to contact the Doctor and they are trying to make arrangements to have the surgery performed as soon as possible. We talked last night about where things were at and he said that the surgery is around $160,000 and that his insurance won’t be able to cover the cost of the surgery. I struggled sleeping last night trying to think of way that he could receive help getting the necessary funds in a timely fashion to get the surgery that he needs. He has a site setup to receive donations, but that is a lot of money and requires either a few well off individuals or a bunch of people like me, who want to help but can only give what seems like a pittance compared to the sum needed. This is the only way that I could think of that might help his cause in a timeframe that will allow him to get the surgery before it’s too late. Help me Guardians!!! Help me push back the darkness that is weighing down one of our own! Become Legend I hope that this post will resonate with some on this forum and will move them to action. Every little bit helps, and please spread the word to all of your fellow guardians and gaming friends. I hope that this post will prevent hearing the phrase in Destiny that I am all too familiar with… Guardian Down! Here is the link to Sonny’s FaceBook page where you can find the link to his gofundme page: https://www.facebook.com/sonny.langley Sonny does not know that I am doing this, but I feel it is a way that we can all help. Please send him a friend invite, play Destiny with him and get to know him for yourself. His PlayStation gamer tag is Sonnylangley09. I hope that he is okay with this. My PlayStation gamer tag is TURDLESPEED, look me up (I am real). Thanks for taking the time to read this! Update: Sonny has been informed of my post and I had to remove the link to the gofundme site due to a conflict with the Code of Conduct policy on Bungies forums.
