*THE LEVELLING SYSTEM*

I am loving where this game is heading, high levels, more raids, more strikes, the new addition of needing XP to level up I think is needed. I think the major problem that lies within Destiny is gear and levelling system. It seems that every new expansion pack is simply going to be a release of new gear, with better stats which their is nothing wrong with. But I think in order to make each piece of gear more valuable and make it seem more worthwhile keeping hold of it I think there needs to be a major change to the levelling system. Higher levels are simply still going to be too easy to reach and this means when acquiring new gear it gets disregarded very soon after, which will be very evident in the next update 'The Taken King'. In my opinion the game needs many more levels , much higher than 40 , for example 100 levels. Although this may seem extreme, if there were say 10 levels as a milestone, and at each milestone you could acquire new and better gear, this would make each piece of gear much worthwhile. Legendary gear could be ranked into different classes, rather than simply just one class which is legendary gear. Then also make potentially a new class of gear , maybe 'heroic' or something, which is only awarded in very rare circumstances. I think these sort of additions would give each player more to work for rather than simply dismantling most weapons and armour when a new update is brought out. Please feel free to comment!

  • At the rate it's going now, look for Lvl 100 in year 10. That and everything else is obviously out of our control, and subject to change on a whim. There are, unfortunately, many great ideas that go unnoticed or get no acknowledgment when they are implemented.

    • The problem here is that they are completely failing at weapon progression. A higher attack level doesn't make a better weapon, the stats and perks totally outweigh the attack level. Many players are still using Vault of Glass and Iron banner weapons because of the good stats and perks. In two expansions they've thrown tons of new weapons at us, but all of them have been worse than weapons already in the game since day one. The reason no one has ever replaced their Fatebringer is because they have never made another Hand Cannon even close to as good as it. In my opinion, having Outlaw and Field Scout is the best combo of perks, but getting Firefly is an added bonus! Word of Crota was complete garbage compared to it. Even the Jewel of Osiris (Adept) and the Six Dreg Pride II are really bad compared to Fatebringer. They need to give us good weapons to replace our old weapons. The only weapon type in the game that ever had any kind of progression was Void damage primary weapons. Once you got a Word of Crota you were happy to replace your Atheon's Epilogue (partially because that weapon was so bad), and in House of Wolves nearly every primary weapon you could get with Void damage was better than the Word of Crota, so once you got one you were happy to replace it. Honestly there have only been 1 weapon in each expansion worth using: Black Hammer in TDB and The Scholar (Adept) in HoW. Every weapon they've shown us in the TTK reveal was junk - bad stats and bad perks. It looks like Sleeper Simulant might be the only weapon worth using from TTK. This is terrible. We should just get new weapons with the new attack value that have the EXACT SAME stats and perks as our favorite weapons or be given the option to infuse year 1 legendary weapons. Forcing us to abandon great weapons and only giving us garbage to play with is a terrible idea and will probably kill Destiny - especially since so many other great games are coming out this fall. They need to be making great design decisions to keep us interested, not totally screwing over the entire fanbase and pissing us all off.
