Even if you buy GHorn, you still "earned it". You worked for the Strange Coins (even if they aren't very hard to get if you can run heroic strikes and such). If you ran Nightfall with your friends you still earned GHorn

To me I'd argue that's you earned the coins but didn't earn the gally. You bought it. It's like someone earning a purple heart medal in war and let's pretend it was "for sale" and me just buying one. One guy can say he earned it but I really couldn't say that. To me because the game is RNG you can "win" a gally from completing a action BUT because there aren't specific actions that need to be done to earn the gally it's simply not earned. It's based on luck. The exotics that make you do a quest... Now those are earned. They will not be giving to you by luck. Think of Destiny's RNG like playing lottery. You play and hope to get lucky and win a gally or win a million bucks. No one ever say you earned the lottery money. No you won it. If you one day get 50 million dollars from lottery and someone meets you for the first time after you've got this money... And they ask you.. How did you amass your fortune... You can't say Oh I earned this.. Cause they will say wtf you won it playing lottery when they find out later you lied to them.

Personally I think all Exotics should have to be earned by bounties, or something you have to do, like finding 50 parts of the Sleeper Stimulent... The better the weapon is the harder the bounty is... Then Xur would be nonexistent which would erase much of the lore from the Nine...

That would be great. They can keep RNG for the exotics but make it a supporting factor. Like to get gally you MUST complete this and this AND THEN you have a chance of it dropping. Xur makes it really easy to get exotics. Which kinda sucks.
