So, I have a friend who is interested in playing Destiny however he has a problem, he's mute. I'm still kinda new to Destiny and avoid raids because I don't own a mic. And it seems very crucial to have one.
Sure I can just get my friend to play Strikes and Cruciable matches but from what people are saying, Raids are a big part of Destiny. I really want him to play this game. If the answer is its totally impossible without a mic then I guess he is better off in Warframe PC. He loves using chat there which Destiny seems to be lacking. This is also to help myself cause I want to do raids but after halfway doing a raid oncw, I was clueless and lost from all the pointing and waving from my teammates and people then left the fireteam. Any plans from Bungie to solve those with no mics or unable to use them?

im not muted, but i have slight social anxiety, how i managed to do most of the end game activities? im a fast learner, i study, i improvise, i learn. thats how i get experience. 5x trials now without talking, just listen and carry your fat ass xD

I have no mic but I've completed VoG and crota numerous times just look it up on YouTube

Your 'friend's' inability to speak does not mean he has an inability to play interactive games. You must decide if his speech impediment is a disability to you. Are you able to play with someone who cannot speak. I am sure his hands and brain are just fine and he can best the best of us. Give him a chance. The same chance you give those who can talk and cannot play worth a darn. Try it, he will surprise you.

Went flawless done all the raids etc and I don't have a mic

Point and shoot

Edited by Aiden985: 8/16/2015 10:53:30 AMIts shouldn't be to hard as long as your group you find explains to you two how to do each part and you message them or do something to let them know you understand you should do fine.
-
You can explain the mechanics to him, as long as he listens you should be abke to beat it.
-
Mics are not needed for 99% of content
-
I would watch videos of the raid first to get an idea of what to do and tell the group. Then just play and listen to the team. Would be willing to play with you guys since I don't really care if anyone talks.

One of my clan mates has no mic but he listens when we ask him to do something run several raids and flawless trials with him
-
Play all raids with him, if he can hear you that's all you need
-
I am profoundly deaf i can't talk on mic. I beat vog, crota, poe 35 and flawless trials all you need pay attention what you doing you should be fine
-
Edited by Aviixe: 8/16/2015 6:28:15 AMSimply, leave the mic unplugged.

You can do everything but trials without a Mic.
-
You don't need a mic to raid as long as A. You listen and B. You're not an idiot
-
I suggest you can use PS app on your mobile to communicate. This you won't need to move back and forth on you PS4. Takes more effort to complete a raid but not impossible.
-
Communicating is really important in the raids, therefore there are not many players that wants to play with you if you don't have a mic. Is it really that hard to buy a mic? It doesn't need to be the most expensive one.
-
Really his best bet is to connect a keyboard to the console (preferably wireless just because it's easier) and communicate through messages (I also know a mute who does this very thing), to get him in to the endgame stuff you'll want to run through with him so he can know what to do, and ideally as long as he can hear everyone else then it shouldn't be a problem, most ingame players are nice enough and won't mind as long as he let's them know about the fact he cannot speak. If they insist on communicating with him just make sure he can hear them :)

You don't have to talk unless you play some big role or are doing skolas. My mic broke a while ago and I still do raids and trials. Las long as you can hear them, you should be fine.
-
Silently
-
As long as you can hear, wave or dance or something to show you understand what's going on, he should be fine. I hardly talk on my mic even during Skolas/raids.
-
As long you can hear everyone you don't need a mic. Heck i completed Skolas arena and no one had a mic.
-
You don't have to have a mic to hear them so I usually say as long as you can hear us you are fine.
-
Pointing means go over there, waving means come my me or to get ur attention. And for ur friend just have him watch videos of it being done. That's all you can do
-
I have a mic but i hardly use it..I'm sure he will do fine

Start playing with a mic and the next thing you know, you are sitting around in your underwear with your friends playing Dungeons and Dragons in your mom's basement.
