Isn't loving Destiny like loving your first girlfriend on an isolated island with no other girls to tempt you? So naturally you love her or "think" you love her.
What I mean is most people on Destiny I meet in fireteams for raids, poe and trials do not and have not played many or any other games.
I ask "anyone played Witcher 3?"
Nope
"Anyone played shadow of mordor?"
Nope.
"Anyone played Bloodborne?
Nope.
"Anyone played Last of us?"
Nope.
"Anyone played the evil within?"
Nope.
I enjoy Destiny like a good old fashioned, nice about once a week maybe but more than that and it gets old.
PS4 has so many good games I enjoy these days but people are so addicted to Destiny they are blind to them.
But yeah lets be positive about Destiny!

Haha that was me until Bungie came out with this patch they're talking about.Once I saw that , I dropped the ball and decided to quit Destiny.And also , I LOOOOOOOOVVVEEEE THE LAST OF US SOOOO MUCH

I play The Witcher 3 myself, loving Destiny doesn't mean I don't play other games.

I've played all those things, they're all pretty linear and only work for one playthrough (except I played TLOU four times, amazing game) while Destiny, although hollow and lacking in much content at all, does have replay-ability.

Hollow and lacking content but has replayability? Seems like a contradiction. I understand your point though. But whats the point of having replayable content if it is hollow and dry? What is different between running the same raid over and over than playing the same game over and over? Replayability should mean the game is fun each time you replay it. Does this describe Destiny? For some perhaps. Then again perhaps games are not supposed to last forever, as destiny seeks to. Games are fun. Then they stop being fun. Then you change game. Destiny presents itself as a game for 10 years but it dries up fast.

Yeah, I worded that wrong. The only really enjoyable thing in Destiny is the loot drops, there's not really any other feeling like it currently. It is, for most people, more an addiction than an actual game, you're definitely right. I spend a lot of my time in crucible (not on this particular account, that's why there's such a low time played) because that's the only thing in the game that isn't more a grind than an actual enjoyable experience.

Was good to have a civil chat about the game! I also occasinally jump on to play the crucible to just enjoy the game and not for some reward/loot drop. I wonder when this genre of games began. By this genre I mean games driven by loot rather than enjoyment. I mean its kind of life work. We go to work for the reward (money) not because we enjoy it. (Well this is most people. Some enjoy their job. Lucky bastids.) When did gaming become a second job to seek tangible rewards from? The first MMO I played was Ultima Online when I was a teenager. Just played for fun. Meet people. Join a guild. Hunt or tame dragons. Miss those days. Since then it has all changed I feel.

I say nope to all the games you mentioned because they do not interest me, I'm not into the medieval quest games or demon hunter kinds of games. I've been a gamer my whole life and am well versed in gaming for the last 2.5 decades. Each people have their own preferences, as it stands I like destiny.

Just dont understand how Destiny can be anyones perference but I will concede the point, to each their own, my understanding is not important. Personally I think Destiny thrived because it released at a time without competition. At a time when the next gen consoles didn't have many games to compete with. But after 2015 when more triple A titles are released I don't understand how people can continue to sink their time into Destiny with so many good games coming out. I played Destiny a lot from November (when I got my ps4) to March and then got bored with running the same content for the sake of loot, and forgot how to just enjoy playing a game for the sake of it. I personally think Destiny is a plague for the gaming genre and does not seek to entertain the gamers but to make them addicted to the grind, for the grind's sake. Just my opinion.
