Cinematic For Grimoire
Many say there is no story to Destiny, but many of the grimoire cards have very interesting stories. Do you think future grimoire cards should have cinematic? At the end of whatever mission/event it gives you the option to view the grimoire scene. Thoughts....
Edit 1: So comic book type layout with a character's (The Speaker, Ikora, etc.) voice over, telling the grimiore card's story.

Take one look at the Destiny wiki which has compiled all the info from the cards and you'll see just how open the lore is. Your better off coming up your own lore then trying to understand what the Fallen's motivations are, or what the Hive is. Second, I wouldn't mind reading them if they weren't called cards but memory chips which I could access in-game through Dinklebot (sorta like what Skyrim does with books, or what Fallout does with info tapes)

These cinematic need to be in-game with a skip button. Despite the lore, the grimoire cards residing outside the game are a waste of time. At minimum, we should be able to access these card in the tower. Poor game design by Bungie.

2 RepliesThey can't do it for every new one but for some. From my understanding good cinematics in a game cost a lot of money and most players just want to skip them after the first time. I would settle for some voice overs and maybe a comic style panel to panel cut scene for the grimoire.

1 ReplyThe first step should be to get them into the game and then decide on how to present them, personally I like the Mass Effect way, simple audio logs of each codex entry spoken by a narrator but in Destiny's case I think having each card been spoken by someone it is related to, queens grimoire entries being told by Petra, events that are from the past are spoken by the Speaker and so on. I do like the idea of cinematic entries, I just think keeping it simple would be a little bit quicker

It would be awesome to see a cinematic playing out what the card is about. How amazing would it be to see Eris Morn and her fireteam try to kill Crota? Yeah I'd be open to watching that.
