The Original Story?
I mean I'm confused I heard that destiny was totally backwards compared to the original story. I feel like they shouldn't have scrapped it after what I heard. Did I hear correctly?
•The traveler was evil
•The queens brother was the main enemy
•The stranger and the speaker were "rebels"
•There was actual trading
•There were actual quests
•There were 2 more planes?
•the towers exos were gonna "corrupt"
•and Each class had a different awaking scene
I don't exactly trust my friend but, I have heard some of the things before and was just wondering how much of it you guys have jeard about.

1 Replysome of that is right, but when your lead creative designer and the creative driving force of the entire game leaves your company 8 months before the release of the game, it throws a kink into plans. Whatever the reasons for the changes, Bungie made several mods to the story after their lead designer left- maybey he owned some of the rights? or they wanted to go a different way and that is why he left? IDK Changes happen all of the time. Just seeing what this game was like at release and what it is like now is totally different. The noobs have no idea what the loot cave is or how badass autos used to be or how hard the grind to level 30 was or.............

You have to wait for rng to drop the story cipher then unlock hidden chest in VoG then bring it to eva levante and wait 3 years before the story makes sense.

Don't forget each character ie, human Exo and Awoken all had different ways of starring the game, the one that we have all seen when starting from scratch is the Exo's entrance into the game, Bungie scrapped the other two after the lead writer left two weeks before launch.

So they patch worked some shit together. Which is why I think TTK will be the first installment that has a story that actually makes sense. Since they've had over a year to work on it.

I've pretty much come to terms with the fact that we won't ever get to see the Destiny we saw at E3 in 2013, but it would be cool if they at least told us what we never got to see cause it's not like they will ever use that story in the game. It seemed really interesting and now Bungie won't even mention the fact that they totally changed everything at the last minute. I'd like to ask the writer who left Bungie what the story he wrote was since rumor has it he left because Activision was trying to squeeze as much money out of it as possible at the expense of his game.

1 ReplyWell that is mostly hearsay by anonymous redditors. We know the story was different: we know we were gonna get exotic items at the end of raids and stories, we know trading was a possibility.... But we don't actually know details outside of reddit stories that may or may not be true.

That's actually true, but Activi$ion scrapped the story and repackaged it as DLC to increase the millions of dollars they were going to make anyway

1 ReplyEdited by me2ez: 7/6/2015 5:12:12 PMin late 2013 and earlier 2014, age range testing for the game began and activision figured out that younger children and those who dont care to think critically in a video game didnt appeal to the expansive world they created. Younger kids just want to shoot aliens and watch their face blow up... many other planets and moons/satellites, and generally the worlds we are playing on now were once anywhere from 5 to 10x's larger than the size they are currently. After finding out that people will not exactly "throw money" at their game as often as they would prefer, they forced the person (good friend of mine) who created the Destiny universe to re-write the story onto grim'pokemon cards, cut over 75% of the original content this game was suppose to have and began focusing on a quarterly DLC agenda. Then Destiny hit the shelves, Joe Staten left the company and the game itself was reviewed in general around the 6/10, 7/10 ratings. And the kids and morons are now throwing money at the screen cause destiny herpa derpa destiny.
