The Elder Scrolls lore is completely uninteresting to me. Seems pretty generic as far as fantasy games go, albeit with a bit more depth.
Plus, Fallout gameplay in general is more varied and exciting. Finding a new sword in Skyrim means your attacks now deal +5 damage ( exciting! ). Finding a new gun in Fallout could mean completely changing your playstyle to better suit the weapons strengths and weaknesses.

There's more than just swords lol.
-
I like Skyrim, but I completely agree.
-
Thank you.
-
OP, get of this post
-
That second paragraph is sooo wrong Weapons like mehrunes razor or chillrend are very unique and exciting
-
Really? You think those weapons are exciting? Lol They have literally zero impact on the way you play the game. Mehrunes razor and chillrend are identical to every other melee weapon in the game. You swing at the target until it dies. BUT... now sometimes they have a random chance of dying prematurely, or a random chance of being frozen for a couple seconds. Whoop dee doop
-
Everything in fallout is the same All you do is shoot or swing at it until it dies Whoop dee doop
-
Decent attempt to derail the discussion, but no.
-
How is fallouts item gaining any more exciting is my question You're just being a hypcrit

Edited by SAS OPERAT1VE: 7/5/2015 4:57:57 PMId like say the aspect of finding a really rare weapon in fallout is better than rare daggers in TES because finding something rare in fallout you have to find others to keep them in good condition although I like skyrim a barter system of certain people only buy certain stuff. It it sometimes becomes annoying when trying to locate the local general store I just prefer fallouts everything over TES Also Idk how you came to the fact of him being a hypocrite
-
Because you claim finding a new weapin in fallout is so much more exciting when it is really the same thing
-
You have to admit knocking someones head off with a teddy bear is unique!

Edited by Faliz18: 7/6/2015 11:35:14 PMNot really. Every melee weapon is the same pretty much, with daggers being useful for stealth. In Fallout the game emphasizes using different weapons for different situations. I might spot a couple of Raiders from far away, so I pull out the Gauss Rifle and pick off one as the others start running toward me. Then I use my hotkey to switch to my mid range AR and chip away at another's health, and when he gets close I pull out a shotgun I found and blow him to bits. But there's also a Mutant Behemoth nearby so I'll pull out a Fat Man and launch a mininuke. In Skyrim the game really wants you to pick 1 or 2 weapons and stick with them. The clunky method of switching between items really makes it better to just hack away instead of vary your tactics. It's more about upgrades than alternatives.

I don't find it more it's just that I like to mantain my weapons and armor that likely deterate from use but it's not a mechanic in TES sure you can Grind. Sword and make it sharper but you can only do that once and then if you could do it more then it would eventually break I'm just saying that TES lacks a wear and tear mechanic that I so dearly love
-
Skyrim is the only game that does not have that You obviously have only played skyrim You can also upgrade a weapon more than once
-
No I played oblivan for the 360 and it was meh and that's why I choose to invest more time into a game like fallout 3 with a rich story that I enjoyed better
-
You said that TES does not have weapon degrading mechanic TES has much much more lore and deeper lore and story
-
The problem is most people are bored to death of your typical Tolkien fantasy setting.
-
Its actually pretty different from other typical fantasies
-
How? The elves are ugly? The dwarves are dead?
-
Edited by U R My ChewToy: 7/7/2015 1:05:21 AMWell compared to stereotypical fantasy settibgs with good guys vs bad guys there is no clear good or bad. (Except the daedric princes such as molag bal or mehrunes) but even then sone demons are "good" plus theres more life to it with politics, wars where there again, really is no good or bad. The races are unique in that theres not just typical ranger elves, short hardy mining dwarves, humans, and evil orcs or other humans. (Inheritance cycle is guilty of all of this) the elves are unique with different races, the dwarves are actually kinda unique, etc Id say even warcraft is a bit less original
-
That is clearly your opinion and everyone's is entitled to there own but if that's how skyrim is then It's probable that it would continue into the next ones so yes I believe that the wear and tear is missing and it's not what I want over fallout I love TES but I Married Fallout
-
Its not my opinion that TES has deeper and more lore because really it is a fact its just whether you like the lore i guess
-
That's actually an opinion, I think Skyrims lore has no depth.
-
The elder scrolls has TONS of depth You just have not looked into it
