Bungie I'm sorry but you have lost my support
I paid 60 dollars for a game that I thought was original, amazing, and had the entire game in it and wasn't split into dlcs. I am not buying the taken king, it's simply too expensive and unfair since I have paid 60 dollars for the base game, and 20 for each dlc, and now you want an extra 40 for something I should of had at base? Whilst other people are getting everything for 60 dollars just because their new and didn't buy it at base. This is the appreciation you show the fan base that's been with you some since the 1990s? I don't care for cosmetic items, I want to pay the same thing FOR the same thing, having trust in a company shouldn't mean we pay more.
Edit: thank you guys for your support (most of you) we the community is what drives this game, if we don't let bungie be greedy by taking away the money they want us to give, we might be able to make a change. And to you guys saying that I'm acting stupid or such, the witcher 3, fallout, Dragon age, skyrim, etc is a 50 times the side of this and do you have to pay for each part? No sir you sknt.

1 ReplyI agree that $40 for the first real dlc is BS. The game cost $100 dollar just to get the game completed. So everyone who has been playing gets charged $140 total for the game and new players only have to $60 for the complete game and the first dlc. It deffinently feels like a rip-off, but the greed is because of Activision not Bungie. If you look at the fact that Call of Duty AW was also a Activision game that was sold to people as a incomplete game too, then it should make sense. I think Bungie is going to slowly have their entire name ruined by the actions of Activision unless people learn the truth. In 2014 Activision invested $500 million in Bungie for the costs to develop and market Destiny, so they are the ones who write the price tags too. The truth is that Activision is hiding their greed behind Bungie's name. I understand content costs money to make and charging for service is business, but ripping people off and placing the blame on a smaller company is still lying. I wanted to share this because people should be blaming Activision not Bungie.

7 RepliesHow does Bungie stay in business if they give you all of this content for free? Creating new content takes a LOT of money, especially for a AAA game. Here's my opinion: I've dropped 100 dollars on this game, and I have had a helluva lot of fun playing it. I've gotten hours and hours of entertainment out of it, and I've thoroughly enjoyed every hour. To me, that's worth my 100 dollars. And if I have to pay 40 more dollars to get days of new content, then hell yeah, I will! It boggles my mind that people can fall in love with games like Last of Us, which offers a linear, 10 hour story for a whopping 60 dollars; but hate a game like Destiny, which provides you hours and hours of genuinely fun gameplay and replayable content.

These kids think it's cheap and easy to produce AAA games with ongoing content. Keep up the good work and thanks for an awesome game! P.S. The game isn't perfect and I have had my complaints, but Bungie listens to us and has made improvements. Some of what you guys are asking is idiotic by wanting them to give you DLC / cosmetics for hella cheap or free.

I agree it makes no sense giving new players more content than current or veteran players. We should have access to all the same content a new player would receive without having to actually pay more if we want the content as well as the cosmetics for sticking with the game this long. I'm glad to see some other people feel the same way about these issues.

1 ReplyI haven't played Destiny since last November I think. I pre-ordered the Legendary edition and took it back along with the firearms book and post cards even though the gamestop employee said I wouldn't get anything for them. My main gripe was the always online requirement but things have been building and getting worse. Marty O'Donnell fired, Joseph Staten leaving, the story obviously being shredded and hastily put together. Now this bullshit. It makes me sad to see Bungie accept what they're doing. It's all a mess, a real disappointment. What's really awful is witnessing all the mindless morons who continue to play the goddamn abomination of an IP. I'm sorry for the people in the community who actually made this game something more. tldr Bungie has succeeded monetarily by sacrificing almost everything that made the studio great. My heart is broken.

Completely agree. i played Destiny with little to no issues up until today. i signed in to find my max gear and weapons across all 3 characters gone and i don't give out my account info either. then i am informed Bungie stated no matter the circumstances they will not replace lost items even if it is on their behalf. so, i honestly want my money back Bungie, i wasn't aware that you stated you can make progression in this game only to have it ripped from you at any given moment(we might even take it) and there is nothing to be done about it but grind for it all over agai

I bought this game( first game that i got to keep) so i could chill out and have fun. But instead it pisses me off and makes me angry cause everthing is unbalanced and you have to get lucky for the good stuff. You dont actually earn it. I find the game agari.o that was probably made in 2 weeks better than this game that was worked on for a -blam!-ing millinium. Ill keep on playing but if you guys make the taken king anoyher crappy dlc, ill b pissed off.

And anyone who wants to cruse that city will have to buy the access to it. I knew that from the start, what did you all think? They would just hand over the keys for free? Get real. Every expansion will cost, get used to that, do you think that people who build this game world step by step work for free? Got to pay to play.

honestly, you guys are right. i understand that they are a business and nothing is ever perfect, but bungie really needs to go -blam!- themselves hard for trying to act like they give a shit about the "community" when they ignore the widespread outrage posted all over their site and pretend like everything is just fine the way it is. be a -blam!-ed up selfish game company but just STOP ACTING LIKE YOU CARE WHAT WE SAY!

I really want someone at Bungie to see this thread. It would mean a lot if people spoke up in here and voiced why they're not going to participate in Destiny's failed escapism. Because that's why we play right? To get a small reprieve from the bullshit of life. When that bullshit becomes part of my gaming experience, I'm out. Bungie has created something great, and squandered it with the black tendrils of greed.
