In the end, Acitivsion decided to fire them, and in the result, do as said before, withheld their owed money. So what happened in this time? Not suprisingly, Bungie was about ready to distance itself from Microsoft only and become a multi-platform developer. This was months before Reach was launched. Reach was still in the making, but Bungie was prepping their contract with Activision as their original 10 year contract with Microsoft would exprie in 2011. So despite the poor timing, many claimed it was not a case of "Bungie will replace Infinity Ward" But thats where many, like me, got a bad sense of a bleak future with Bungie. This was activision, they were already doing scumbag ordeals, they killed the Guitar Hero series and Tony Hawk Series along with Prototype, they were spamming all their crap on the Skylanders toyline to try and have the perfect marketing scheme to leach everything out of someone who wanted to play a game. That vance-Zampella case? It turns out, Acitivsion's hand was forced, when the evidence came rolling in that things were against them, they complied and offered a settlement deal, to end the employment, but give the money they owed plus the interest up to the end of the trial, and thats where it ended. That is ultimately where respawn entertainment along with Titanfall on EA eventually came from, West, Zampellia, and a few loyal former IW employees followed them because "they were sick of the ordeal and didn't want to work for Acitivsion anymore" Acitivsions true colors were showing, they also were terrible for their apporach to DLC, even at this time, what pissed and continued to piss COD players off, instead of purely new maps, they throw in only 3 new ones, chucked in 2 old ones, and jacked up the price. I stopped playing COD after MW3, I skipped black ops 1 and never played another since. I never bought DLC from the COD stuff, but this was acitivsion, why? Because they only wanted as much money as they could get no matter how small it could be. Bungie went in there saying: "we partner with them but we have full creative freedom to our game" This is where it became apparently a problem to activision and more of the anger inducing stuff occurs: Look at how Bungie was when they were making Halo: [i]Microsoft was pushy, constantly looking over their shoulder and seeing what they were doing with the game and hardware, likewise also wanting them to make Halo 2 and 3 when they found out it was a hit. They let Bungie decide on ODST and Reach, that was their choice. But Bungie was also given full creative freedom, with no interference, there were no forced cut content from the DLC, it was all optional, it had seperate playlists but never forced everyone apart. Microsfot was breathing down their necks, but never forcing them into a corner or into dracoean purposes. Bungie even had specific needs as a studio, that they managed to work with Microsoft to oblige just to have recreation for the employees, and Microsoft still by shocker, allowed it and let them have the creative freedom they wanted despite the issues[/i] But activision? Nope. Because actvision hates freedom and as a publisher, as a corperation, everything must be fit to a standard. Even if that standard is underhanded or more destructive in the long run. You know what they do as a publisher? Any studios, that underpreform or dont meet sales expectations,[i] activision blames them for the failure, guts the studio, and ends them[/i] [b]Despite the studios and developers following their own flawed marketing practices![/b] This is what killed Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero, and Prototype along with the decline of Call of Duty and Skylanders. Back in 2013, when Grand Theft Auto 5, was finally going to launch, guess what Activision boasts about: "That COD ghosts was so good and great, it would defeat GTA5 and still claim game of the year" We all know how that turned out... Ghosts failed, despite its sales, people and critics were not solid on it. Activision blamed its fanbase for not buying into it or that GTA was "A shoddy game with no content that has no creativity" Isn't that funny, coming from the publisher that has no less then 2-3 guys making Crap of dooty games at once? When these 2-3 year cycles dont even do relative differences for them? I mean effort went into GTA, effort didn't go into ghosts especially when you see the recyled sequences of cutscenes between MW2 and that one. By god. I mean Acitivsion is a corperation, its main purpose is to make money right? But theres a difference between making money that leaves your customers satisfied or otherwise making your company look like a band of theves operating "leagally" because when you can do something legally, you dont need to care about the moral satisfaction or implications long as you can get as much money from commericalism right? Its not bungie to blame for this. Its Acitivsion. Bungie has for the most part, at least responded and done what they could, making the game even for the taken king something to be a former shade of itself as it was originally intended to be with vanilla. But activision, with this news on Joe leaving back in 2013 along with Marty winning this case. Its not all Bungie. Its how Bungie has become enslaved to these draconan processes from Activision. Bungies worst mistake, was actually deciding to work with them. It could be argued, the taken king was in pre-development before the launch of the main game. But the fact that the other content was there, this proves that the story was altered and the content locked and cut up because of activision. Storywise, they thought it was too much and they wanted to divide it. Cut the content, overcharge for it, profit. I mean if the house of wolves and dark below content were free, just launched later, no one would have an issue with this. But activision wants all games to be $100, not merely 60. It gets even worse: [b]When this story alteration began and started to change the final product, Activision was aware of the incomplete content, but rather than let it have more time to be fixed, they wanted it rushed[/b] The lack of worlds, the emptiness of the characters, the limited content, lack of trading, lack of party modes, not even private matches, it was all a good question: How could the creators of Halo, when they made so many modes in an older game like that, with all this hardware, how the hell could Destiny not be anything of a good successor? A social game with no real social properties at launch. It was prone to these problems and just forced ahead. But acitivsion didn't care. They wouldnt even let people review the game until a week after it had been up, no pre-launch events for game reviewers to throw their input. IGN, Gamespot, Game Informer, Kotaku, Destructoid, etc, none of the reviewers were able to get their input until the same as everyone else. These reviewers could and will get games like Halo 5, Uncharted 4, X-COM 2, World of Warcraft (any expansions) Zelda Wii U, Smash 4, The Last Guardian, Half life 3, whatever you can bet they will get a good look at the games and make a sound judgement. But not for destiny. So by the time everyone got to review it, everyone else was already just bought into it like a poorly presented Steam early access game. So activision made itself look like the ultimate group of scumbags. More than they already were. But it also sadly impacted Bungie. Now people see Bungie as either a slave or cohort of shelling out incomplete games with acitivsion. But in truth, Bungie did make a game that was at least playable and interesting, it had effort unlike call of duty. Things at least worked, it was only that ciritism from fans like us, players like us, we want it to work because we want to see the game we envisioned. We dont want acitivsion to ruin it into the ground. But this all could have been avoided if these idiots just laid well alone. Things were fine when Bungie had its idea, and it could have been a better, much much better game than it is now. Like it or hate it, people still like bungie. PS4 players don't exactly have a major sci-fi game of their own. Not all Xbox One players are fully keen for Halo 5 (despite it looking promising) Not everyone likes or wants to continue call of duty after nearly 10 years of the same damned thing. Destiny, is at least with the taken king, to finally feel like a real game. But its this DLC crap that makes people skeptical of the future. If you never played destiny, $60 for everything is fine. Though blizzard is also sadly part of activision. But its to be expected with any baseline-expansion inducing game, no matter the company. TL;DR: Activsion is a bunch of ******* and bungie was blindsided, them and the customer all paid the price. We can only salvage and make destiny the game we can/want from this blunder.

You forgot the robot sweeper hasn't been fast enough in his rounds. The areas are just getting dirty too quickly. Something has to be done about it.

People need to stop complaining. Constructive criticism is different than cries for "nerf this" or "remove that" or "we want dedicated servers now".

Ppl complain because they think that spending a little bit of money on a game entitles them to be the game developers and editors... Ppl are never satisfied with the game the way it is...
