That RNG is so predictable.

This is an observation/story/theory on how the R in RNG might be a sham. I'm in no way trying to put the game down, for the better part of a year 80% of my gaming has been spent as a guardian. And loving it. I'll start off by stating what I told my friend who started playing Destiny a month later while I played day one. This statement came about when we realized how good gjallarhorn was and how he couldn't seem to get his hands on it. I said " Yeah I think the RNG locks in when you start the game. You are assigned drops(exotics in particular, and in addition ones that are exempt from Xur's inventory) that you will get a lot and that one or 2 drops that will make you hate the game and curse your mom." His reply was yeah you're probably right... Keep in mind the elusive one for him was the Ghally and mine the Hawkmoon. To date he has dropped 3-4 Hawkmoons and I 4 Gjallarhorns. As a joke I started leveling them up to tick him off and to minimize item transfers between characters. Until early last week we never dropped our respective items. Let me also point out that my friend would do every single activity that would give him a chance at a Ghally. We're talking 6 VoGs, 6 Crota's end 3 nightfalls and recently Prison of Elders. Having a family and kids I couldn't do all of the above every week but I'd say I got decent hours in. He got the Ghally at deathsinger and not even a week later I got the infamous handcannon after dropping crota with my second character. The next time I play after weekly reset at the deathsinger and as my very next exotic after dropping the Hawkmoon was.... another Hawkmoon. So yeah something fishy is going on with the RNG but again that might be what makes it so appealing in a s&m kind of way.
