Serious question about Bagging..

Recently I posted a short montage of myself using tripmines and getting some pretty fun kills. However, I did have a decent amount of bagging in my clips and most people pointed out that they lost interest because of that. My main question is, what is the problem with getting in a nice tbag here or there? What is the big issue? I remember in Halo many players used to bag and now it's frowned upon. What's the issue? Explain. Edit #1: Anyone saying it is a "maturity" issue, I really want to know what brings you to that assumption. Saying it is childish really doesn't convince me, or any other person who bags, to stop. Because personally, I do not view it as childish when used at the appropriate time. It is literally the same exact thing as a dance celebration, except it is a t-bag as opposed to doing some lame dance. Maybe if Destiny had more dance moves I would consider using that, but there is nothing different from a celebration standpoint between the two. It all is a matter of preference, much like everything else in this video game. Edit #2: Starting to feel like people are just softies nowadays and want to be all serious in a -blam!-ing video game. LOL at anyone who tries to relate the act of t-bagging in a video game to real life. Sounds like UR MAD Edit #3: It would be cool if some of you guys, regardless if you are pro-tbag or anti-tbag, would like this post. Let's get this conversation mainstream. Edit #4: as brought forth by Wheeze, 'Not "everyone" in Halo t-bagged' so I changed what I said above.

  • It's non-verbal trash talk. Trash talk is prevalent any place there is competition. The idea is to cause your opponent to act in anger, and so slip up. Based on the replies to your post, I'd say tea bagging is highly effective in that regard.

  • Only 2 reason to Tbag 1) You didn't start the bagging. Re-bagging is fine. 2) He is lag switching, cheap moves, camping, was in super as you killed him, etc. These are the only reasons you should EVER Tbag

    • Without pre/post game lobby chat and proximity chat It's impossible to smack talk. Which directly takes away from bagging. It is more of a glory hole "glory bag" situation. Anonymous tbagging isn't nearly as fun as hearing some jabroni cry while getting a face full. Tbagging is fun but the competitive rivalry isn't really there like the halo days.

    • My personal stance is that I won't do it to anyone unless they personally do it to me first. After that, should expect to get it 10 times worse. Because salt.

      • I reserve my baggage for the most epic moments. On anomaly we were aging skirmish and my team was dead and the enemy team put a camp fire up by the B checkpoint. I ran in shoulder charged one shotgun the second and just full metal death punch the third. I revived only one of my team mates how ever but I did do a little TBag circle dance thing.

        • Its an unwritten part of the game.I think they should change those stupid dances and waving moves into a variety of t-bagging moves.I used to love bagging in Halo where your opponent could hear you bagging and making pooping sounds over his corpse.good times......

          • I reserve t-bagging for moments of sheer brilliance, or in retaliation to a t-bagger. 9/10 times it is the second one. However if I kill a Bladedancer that has Arc Blade active you better believe I am bagging until someone kills me. I should mention that I main a hunter. Gunslinger all the way though!

            • I only teabag when someone 1) teabags me first or 2) is playing like a little shit. I will also then hunt them down over and over again. To bag outside of these should be reserved for halo, because I was 14 and 17 when I did it in halo. Plus being able to literally talk shit while you were doing it was much better

              • There are two types of Destiny players. 1. The Halo veterans AKA TeaBaggers. Us veterans remember the days where when you lay someone out, you drag your bag across their face. It's what you did and will always do from there on out. 2. We have the Not-so familiar Bungie player. These players are unfamiliar of the TeaBag form and get extremely butthurt when someone does this. They are most likely those guys who, when you tell a joke, don't laugh and take it to heart and will not talk to you for a couple weeks until he got over himself. These are the differences between the two and even Bungie supports TeaBagging (from a certain .gif avatar they have). Those who are offended by said act need to realize they are ruining the fun of owning somebody and asserting your dominance. On another note I have come to the conclusion that others actually respect TeaBaggers. I teabag everyone I kill and I get numerous messages stating things such as "You have outgunned me, you proved your worthy by bagging me. You are respected by my clan" and much more along those lines.

                • Not "everyone" in Halo t-bagged, and it was frowned upon then, too. My biggest problem with it is that 9 times out of 10, nothing they did warranted a t-bag. Oh, you killed me while I was engaging your teammate? Good job, dude. I'm very impressed. What's even worse is, so many people who t-bag don't even bother to do it over your body, they just t-bag from where ever they were so you can see it on the kill cam. Same as dancing. And it's just poor sportsmanship thing. It's like dancing around in the end zone. It just makes you look like an asshole. All that being said, I don't really care. It doesn't make me angry, it just makes me think you're a dick who I wouldn't want on my team.

I only "bag" when it is deserved for instance I "bag" (and this happens almost everyday) when... A Titan fails a shoulder charge and i shotgun him "bag" I kill a warlock he slef res and I nova bomb him "bag" I nova bomb the entrie team while on very low health "bag" I get 3 head shots with one sniper shot "ccccccommbooo bagggg" Or my best one yet which happened during iron banner.. Asylum, Venus 2 Titans in one room, blade dancer, sunslinger, tripmine grenade, and a hunter going gunslinger vs one nova bomb to the face yeah that was awesome blade dancer going crazy sunslinger chucking grenades out the ass 2 Titans one had red death I think and a trip mine AKA "bag"

                  • I tbag at times, it frustrates the victim. I'm not saying it's always appropriate but I can be useful. I also don't think it's immature, it's just a stupid gesture in a video game. There's worse things that happen in the online gaming world, I mean listen to the way people talk under the protection of online anonymity. I guess maybe it's a put off to see it done in a video so often, not really that tasteful. It's your video though, if they don't like it they don't have to watch it.

                  • It makes things personal when it should be a game. With Halo you were often in a LAN party or sitting next to your buddies so it was way different. Plus, when Halo was new most players were almost 15 years younger than they are now, so there's that. If I kill you in Destiny, it's professional not personal.

I have now started to bag less and will simply stare at said deceased player and look away as if they are nothing to me.

Teabags shouldn't be abused. Its seen as a sign of disrespect but can also be used as a sign of respect. If someone kills me by cheap means I may just give them the bags. If someone bags me and didn't deserve it, they will get bagged. Of someone bags me and didn't even kill me! Bags for them. If I have a running battle with some guy, we trade a few kills etc, and then I kill him with some awesome move or strategy then I bag him because I earned it. Same if someone does a number on me, they deserve their bag moment and I may even applaud. Killing someone with a rocket or super is not worthy of a baggin' and never will be.

I don't t-bag... UNLESS... I've been t-bagged, then I hunt that player down and unleash my sack of vengeance upon his deceased dome. If I do feel the need to express enthusiasm for finally getting one up on a foe... I'll dance. - but usually I do nothing till its done to me then I try and repeat the same process upon them. Seems fair and just to me.

                      • If you are against tbagging as a sort of "win celebration" then no more shooting primary guns, special weapons and heavy weapons after a strike, no supers and jumping arround too. Just stay still.

                        • I only bag in PvE. I don't like having it done to me in PvP, so I don't do it. The "Golden Rule" is something we seem to have lost in the time we live...

                          • I don't see the big deal. I'm terrible at crucible but I'll throw a bag here or there to the camper that got me 3 times. Then when I get him it's a victory. Then I die and get bagged. It's not like they are coming through the screen and taking a crap on your floor. Keep calm and tag on
