Very helpful thread, in glad I'm not the only one gearing up for the ToO. I'm doing plenty preparation BEFORE HoW drops though, and I think my fellow guardians might want to as well. I have coined the technique "Level Edging", meaning my rank for __insertfactionhere__ is within 100 rank of leveling up, which will reward me with a package from that respective faction. If I level that faction up before the DLC drops, I will receive a package that has pre-HoW gear. So, I am "level edging" my factions, including cryptarch, vanguard, crucible, new monarchy, and dead orbit, with keeping Future Wat Cult as my EXP whore, meaning when I get my rank within that 100-rank range on all the factions, I throw all extra EXP on FWC. I am in the process of doing this across all 3 of my characters. Also, there is speculation that packages may drop Etheric Light, so I deemed this process worthy of my time. Either way, it's gonna be like Christmas Day when the DLC drops, where I can get some of the new weapons and armor without wasting my marks. Thanks for reading, and good luck Guardians!

I like people that think like me. I didn't go into detail about that because the occasional troll pops its head out and asks what is the point but I'm currently doing the same which is difficult because my Hunter and Titan which are Single-Faction Minded Characters only have one faction above lvl 3. So I'm currently in the grind mode of get everything at level 2 and 100 or less rep from 3

I definitely feel you, I am having the same problem with all of my characters, but as of right now I am lined up to get 12 packages once the DLC drops, and I think I can get it to 14, just takes more time. Glad I wasn't the only one planning

How man Crucible and Vanguard Commendations do you have?

Not a bunch, but I haven't had my XB1 for long. I should probably have a lot. Are they gonna come into play a lot in the next DLC?

Yeah they will I attached a picture from a past Weekly Update where all of your saved up Commendations Can be broken down for 250 rep (that's before the Nightfall XP buff I believe) so I have 66 Crucible Commendations and 7 Vanguard that's 73 all together and it takes 2500 rep to get to the next level for a faction so I have 7 levels I have saved up. But if you want to level up your Vanguard use the vanguard commendations with a regular class item on same for crucible. But the Crucible and Vanguard Commendations will give your Faction of choice the Rep if you have the Faction class armor on
