Are the Auto Rifles extinct?

So I was rummaging through my vault the other day and came across an old friend: my trusty old Vanquisher IV. I dusted it off and decided to carry it into the Crucible, just for old time's sake. I expected it to be an uphill fight, but I actually did alright with it. By maintaining a close ranged stream of headshots, I was able to do pretty well. However, I did not see any other ARs in there. I normally run with Bad Juju, and while I did well enough with the Vanquisher, I certainly noticed a longer time to kill with the AR. Anyway, I am wondering are there any guardians that still carry and rely on an AR as a standard piece of their arsenal? Or has the AR nerf made them (at least for the time being) extinct?

  • I use the Shadow Price, Grim Citizen, Vanquisher , For the People, and Up for anything. I know the pulse rifles are beast now, but I get bored using the same weapon over and over. The Bad JuJu is a beast lol. I have one but don't use it in the crucible, I use a lot of scout rifles in crucible. You are right the Auto Rifle is very seldom used online now. I still use it because I like to be different to a degree. I don't like using the most OP weapon. I like to challenge myself. Sometimes I may use the Red Death, but very seldom. I own other AR , but don't use them online much. Like the Suros, Hardlight, and DO Gooder. It would be nice if the AR got the 2% taken away back. Im cool with the range adjustment, but wish they left the damage the way it was prior to the patch.
