I think I've had an idea for a better way to manage these forums. Say for example, I was a member of the large, sprawling community that Bungie has accumulated, which I am. Say then, for instance, that I was very interested in making destiny a better game, and I wasn't going to be bashing it on the regular, like most of the people in this netspace. Now, as a Bungie community member, I don't have a very large voice. I am a shout in an ocean of screams, one person among hundreds of thousands, needing to be heard and wanting whats heard to be acted upon. but this is one of the largest user bases in gaming history. And the thing is, everyone wants to be heard. but... not everyone needs to be heard. sorry kids. Deconstructive criticism such as "this g4me sux d*ck," or, "fix the NLB/necro/whatevers broke Bungie JEES" is NOT HELPING BUNGIE AS A DEVELOPER. But, to be honest, there are real concerns that have easy fixes that simply aren't being acknowledged. whether because you don't have the time, or you don't care, it doesn't matter. Well, let's be honest here. Not everyone wants to sift through the community's nonsense, and I truly get that. That's where I come into play. say you knew someone who plays this game RIDICULOUSLY often, and they had amazing ideas on how to fix things that they were very familiar with using through experimentation(IE; NLB, Necro, others) BUT he simply didn't want to comment on forums, for fear he wouldn't be heard. I HAVE HEARD THIS MANY TIMES FROM MY FRIENDS, THAT THEY ARE NOT HEARD BY YOU, THE DEV TEAM That's where I come in... The one who can tell what posts are important, and which are deconstructive nonsense. determining what's important isn't necessarily hard, but it will be very tedious. I'd gladly volunteer for this position if given a chance. NOW, Imagine there was a whole other forum site... Just for you guys, For Bungie, to interact with a separate, and small but important select portion of the community. but not like this system. This site would be a companion to bungie.net's forum system, but would be different altogether and not easy to access from people without a special permission from you. we could call it, mods.bungie.net or something. And you and I would be the only ones allowed there. well... Me and maybe a hundred others. Our jobs(as volunteers of course) would be to go through these messy forums, and send you guys the important things. our jobs would be to interface with both you, as a developer, and with us the community, to make this gaming experience much better than it already is. you would have to somehow prove that you belonged with these moderators, and there would HAVE to be a SMALL cap on how many there were, in order to help with ease of access. no more than 200 people. If this technique were successful... YOU as a developer would hear a LOT less of our bitching as a community, and the 100-200 community moderators on this seperate forum would be tasked with finding relevant topics, simplifying them, and making NEW threads under your strict policing, and you would have maybe five or six higher ups (in bungie, that is. the decision-makers who actually care) devote a few minutes out of their day to read on the moderator forum. WE would get the things we really want, and are actually important. bringing inferno in was cool and all, but that NLB really does need a buff. lets get down to the bottom line here... this forum doesn't work. too many times i've heard people saying "man, bungie really doesn't reply." or "will this thing ever get fixed?" Well, if you guys really want to make this one of the most epic gaming experiences, this moderator forum would be almost completely necessary, and would thrust your game into a great direction of community support, and REAL openness with the players that... and hear me out here... NO GAME HAS DONE. STILL. FOR SOME REASON. (I know you try, you do better than anyone in that aspect) so lets summarize... Bungie-developer. duh. employees-five to ten people would be tasked with sifting through the moderator forum. the moderator forum-a place where 100-200 people are tasked with finding relevant information on THIS forum, and posting it up because we feel these are the MOST important things needing fixes. this forum wouldn't have to be aesthetically pleasing. maybe some nice blue/grey tones is ALL we would need not to get a headache. the community-aspiring moderators(if they've the mind for prioritizing information) and everyone else who whines and moans about this awesome game, that has so much potential. I'd really like to hear from YOU, Bungie. I know that this idea can help you get the players off your back if at least for a little bit, and it WILL help you see what the community really needs and wants, as opposed to countless threads on different sublevels that will NEVER be searched more than a few pages in. We can be the outside Point of view. The third party that isn't affected by either side. The median, between you as a developer, and us as a community. Let us help you, Bungie. Thanks for reading.

 • anyone interested in giving feedback? namely from bungie? I know this is a pretty drastic suggestion, and it wouldn't exactly be the 100% most ideal, but it's at least a step in the right direction. as I've stated, there are many people who go unheard here, this would be the best way to have the meaningful voices heard while the disrespectful and deconstructive voices are simply disacknowledged. i know you hate reading flamers cursing about nonsense. I do too, and this could fix it. at the very least it would make these interactions with the players/dev team a whole lot less of a job, and more of a pleasant exchange. no one wants to hear how their product is terrible, which seems like all anyone says here. If you really want something changed, be constructive. this goes to both you AND the community. all it would take is a small amount of work on your part, and a handful of volunteers. I know for a fact there could be SMART, NON-INSULTING moderators who care about this game just as much as you do and want to see it succeed even more than it already has(we all know it's probably the most trafficked game right now.) of course it may take a week or two to weed out the whiners, but done correctly, this idea could change the way you interact with this online community for the better. please, think on it. and please, PLEASE let me know what you have to say.
