Yes, I agree there is little to no difference after the patch. According to the Dev Open House, they said they are still examining the "secondary weapon ammo economy," to quote them directly. But yes, shotguns and fusion rifles need to spawn with only the ammo directly in the magazine, and none in reserve; or even better a flat rate across all such gun types of 4 rounds and none in reserve. Some argued that secondary should not be available at the start of the match. I do not agree with this, as a secondary does need to be a valid second option. A 4 round flat rate would help with this. Then the amount of secondary on the maps needs to be further limited.

  • I'd like to see you start with no secondary and have all secondary boxes removed from pvp. Have players sometimes drop secondary ammo upon death. It rewards the good players and actually makes people learn how to use primaries which shouldn't ever be allowed to be ignored for an entire match.

  • While I'm absolutely all-for less secondary (I do agree with not spawning with it), I don't agree with it only dropping when you kill someone. While a change like that would benefit me greatly, I think it would make the gap between good players and mediocre players so wide that it would just be an awful experience. Imagine the game starts, you and your premade team are going up against a bunch of randoms. You wipe them pretty easily, now all of you have snipers/shotguns/fusion rifles, whichever you prefer. Your already substantial lead will almost be untouchable if your team has skill with those secondary weapons. The longer the game goes on, the bigger gap gets. It would just lead to some pretty unwanted gameplay

  • Maybe, but at least I know they earned the reward. If I get out played and killed with primary weapons, at least I respect the skill. When I get blink shotgunned from 20 feet away constantly on the other hand, t makes me just want to stop playing. I personally think sniper head shots and shotguns/fusions from 5 ft or closer should be the only 1 hit kills. Even 1 hit kill melees are just bad design

  • Agreed. I said somewhere else on this thread that whenever someone snipes me nowadays, I feel like congratulating them and shaking their hand just for using a weapon that requires some skill. I posted elsewhere on here that I think spawning without special ammo, but gaining a full clip every minute and a half would probably be the best solution. That way by the time heavy ammo spawns, you've had two full clips of special ammo, roughly 10-12 sniper shots or 8-14 shotgun shells. If you're smart about getting close enough to the enemies, you can secure those CQC shotgun kills. If you've got a steady aim and land your headshots, you can secure those snipes. Either way, it would require some semblance of skill with either weapon, versus the "spam until something is dead" that currently exists
