Universal Remote, the Primary Shotgun. This gun has always been a a very Weird spot. Ever since the release of the game. It has been slowing Losing range to the Shotgun class nerfs. On the day this game came out, UR has the longest range of any Shotgun. But unlike most shotguns, UR was a shotgun that took skill because the only way to reach that range was to hit headshots using its namesake perk. Unfortunately When the first shotgun range nerf came around, UR lost a lot of its range. It still had a slightly longer range then other shotguns in the game, but it was severely nerfed. The Nerf that came in the 1.1.1 patch Hurt UR's range a lot. Almost to the point that unless you want to run a sniper. Felwinter's Lie is a better shotgun in every case. It's getting Small use in PvE since it gets bonus person damage on top of the x2 damage PvE buff, but Felwinter's lie still is just as good and lets you run a primary with more ammo.
So what can we do to fix UR? Here is my Idea for a rework that would make UR not only a Viable Primary but also worth its Exotic slot.
[u]1. Give UR 40-60 reserve ammo:[/u]
This Reserve ammo will make it a Much more Viable weapon in PvE. PvP will not be effected because you never run out of Primary ammo in PvP.
[u]2. Add these effects to the "Universal Remote" perk.:[/u]
[i]A." while aiming down Sights, Universal Remote fires a Slug, This slug will kill a player in a One shot headshot within the range of Pre 1.1.1 patch one shot kill range. This slug will two shot headshot kill outside of that range." [/i]
[i]B. "While firing from the Hip. This gun has a reduced Spread of its projectiles." [/i]
What this does is not only make this gun fit closer into the role of a primary. but it also lets it keep that makes Univeral remote Unique. also it keep the feel that this gun is only good once you get its namesake perk and is just a standard shotgun until then.
so there you go. Please Bungie I want my Junker to Finally return to being a Beast.

no. it has a slower RoF then Felwinter's lie.
even a 2 shot headshot kill at mid range ( which would be hard to hit since it has very high recoil ) would have a slower time to kill then hawkmoon ( both 2 shot and 3 shot kill), Thorn, The Last Word ( fired from the Hip), Mythoclast, Reddeath, and Preydyth's Timepiece. all of which are considered Top PvP weapons and are cruelty used in PvP

The problem is with the last nerf. The damage fall off is too steep. At 6 feet, it deals, let's say, 2000 dmg, and at around 10 feet, it drops to something like 30... Wtf?

Or you could just increase the range lol. Which is essentially what your ideas would do anyway. I agree though, the only thing that really makes it exotic anymore is that it's a primary. Abd running a primary shotgun really isn't practical witg the buffs it's gotten.

Ya they nerfed the hell out of it bc the aliens couldn't take getting owned anymore...wait...I guess it was the crybabies in pvp that didn't own one got it nerfed. The exotic perk isn't even worth it on this gun. The range isn't there at all. Real shotguns can shoot twice the distance. I know this is just a game but I would think in the future with all this tech that the shotguns would only get better and not worse. I have been using it to make it a 331 but the range in pve is lacking by alot. Come on Destiny and change my range on my junker back to normal please, it will make it a beast again.

I think it's perfect how it is in PvE. I always get by far the most kills in strikes with it. But the nerf hit it hard in PvP. Felwinter's Lie outclasses it so severely that I'd rather run Felwinter's and No Land Beyond if I want to shotty-snipe than UR and a better sniper. It's my favourite PvE exotic right now.

The ammo is fine I run just shotgun strikes and shit and I have only been below 10 rounds a few times. But me and my buds always talk about how universal remote should just be a slug

Yes it's awesome but I love my uni remote but it still gets out ranged by the felwinters with shot package and hammer forged.

To be honest I haven't felt this nerf at all while using UA. I still get crazy long range shotgun kills with it. Yea I don't get as many heads shots but you pretty much quick scope it from short to long range and beat anyone in one shot. The only shit thing is the fire speed but exotics are suppose to be cray but not game breaking. And with a faster reload would put it miles above invective. Btw I hate invective lol.

I agree that it should have an extremely tight spread when u ADS with the perk active Right now it feels like even if u get a critical hit, it doesn't mean anything because 9/10 or however many shots are still hitting the body

UR's RoF is much higher, trust me- I have both. UR needs something to make it viable, and different, for both PvE (only needs more ammo here) and PvP, but I feel like your ideas would make it over powered. No offense.

Maybe you guys didn't notice, but after the patch secondary ammo rarely drops when you have a shotgun equipped in PVE so using the universal remote makes it really easy to get ammo.

I love the universal remote but just can't bring myself to use it, if I do have it equipped, I have nothing to get rid of trash mobs with as I do not like wasting the little bit of ammo I do have in reserve on dregs, acolytes, thrall...etc. What do you guys run in special slot with UR equipped?

They should also put more detail into the grimore card. I read the card to learn of its origins and was disappointed with it.

I would be ok if they replaced lightweight with explosive rounds on the UR
