Is Destiny a game females will want to play?
As a female gamer - before I buy a game - I'd like to know that the game creators took time & consideration for their female fans.
What was so amAzing about Halo; was not only was there stylish armor which complimented the female figure, but there was also a variety of color choices and other armor features.
So far, I have seen pix which portray some female attributes of the different game characters.
What I'm wondering is, what sets the female characters apart from the male characters? Has Bungie promoted the game to female gamers? Are the female characters a realistic embodiment of a human female or are they alien in nature? Would females around the globe recognize this game, as a game girls play?

I'm not sure what you mean, this is a action, rpg, shooter. My wife has always played Call of Duty, I'm not really into it, but love RPG/MMOs. I think its all about who you are not if your a girl or boy. hope that helps. Edit: Crap wish I would of read the date this was made.

A game/movie/book/whatever, doesn't owe you anything because you happen to fall under a specific demographic. I'm sure many Jewish players will be playing as well, so I guess the game owes them something too... Male, female, it doesn't matter. If you are a fan of something, it's because you enjoy it, regardless if it "benefits" you at all or not.

They have made special consideration for their female designs. It's no longer just a shrunk down and warped version of preexisting male armor. It has now been rendered using new tech. Like honestly what does it matter if you're male or female? A good game is a good game. Like if you are looking to play barbie with a female character, they have stated a lot of customization for the characters, and have released plenty of game play vids of a female hunter who doesn't have triple D sized breasts. If you're looking to enjoy a game, then yes it is a game for the female audience. If you're looking to prance around and be pretty to get nerds flocking at your feet, go play WoW.

4 RepliesA lot of people were annoyed by the fact there was female armor in Halo, since canonically Spartans were indistinguishable in their armor, be they male or female. I wouldn't call that "amazing." In addition, isn't defining something as a "game girls play" sexist in of itself?

What sets female characters apart? I am fairly certain that only the look/sound of the character. The stats would be the same or it would create balance issues in the same classes. The human females seem to look human and have realistic proportions, there are alien races that are playable though. A number of my friends are showing interest in this game, a couple of whom are female but the one that has spoken most about it will play a male character as she always does in online games. The other lady isn't sure if she will be playing this or FFXIV:ARR full time. When we find out more about the game and it is closer to release other may show more interest. I don't know if this will be a game that women play in massive numbers, but I believe the potential is there. I have often found that the number of women that I have ran into depends largely on the quality of the game and the maturity of the community.

I'm hoping there is some differentiation. We hear of customization, but not really sure what all that means. My wife will play it regardless. She loves her Halo and sees this as being even better. If she can have a way to personalize it like she wants, she'll be happy. Actually, I'll probably spend more time in character customization than she will. She is more concerned with the story and how her character fits into the world and that it seems relevant... and that she gets to Blow Stuff Up™ She has two main characters that she loves to play. Master Chief and Lara Croft. I'm hoping the stories don't get too diluted from trying to branch out into "shared world" plotlines and cause her to not like the game. As long as they do a good job with voice communication, we shouldn't have too much trouble with an influx of female appearing toons. Hopefully. Regardless, I hope there is good customization so that I do feel like I am as unique as possible in potentially a 10-year gun love-fest!

I hope they distinguish between make and female cause what if you see a badass female taking down a centurion that would be awesome! I've always picked the female in every halo multiplayer cause in my opinion there smaller in size and cooler
