Hey everyone, my names knife----play, and im by no means a bad player or butthurt or anything, i mean i have plus 2kdrs on my characters, but im really starting to think handcannons are ruining crucible.
as a newbie or low level gaurding playing pvp for the first time and getting 2 shotted by hawkmoon or thorn is a little bit lame and can put people off.
hell i even use hawkmoon and think to myself this really isnt fair! lol but i would love to run an assault rifle and pulse rifle but they just cant compete as literally everyone is running thorns etc.
and the 2v2 playlist is literally thorns thorns thorns and im pretty bored of it
just a little worry of mine, no arguments wanted here just a conversation
thanks :)

Edited by Kone19ps: 2/2/2015 5:40:18 PMThe buffs are just too reactionary so hopefully they will get a balance soon. Basically I think a few things need to happen. ARs need a buff or just a few of the old Lrof high impact ones besides suros. The pulse rifles need a speed buff to the shots so they are more like the battle rifle where the burst was instantaneous. I think this would even the playing field a bit at medium range.

Survey on most used primary crucible weapons... -Hand cannons 49% -Scout Rifles 31% -Auto Rifles 19% -pulse Rifles 2% Not op yet being used by half the online community lol. Don't care what anyone says otherwise... Exotic hand cannons are massively op, thorn's burn n fire rate together is too much, should be one or the other, TLWs fire rate and impact is too much, and hawk moobs lucky bullets and fire rate is too... Looks crazy when you take into consideration how many of those percentages are exotics, legendary I bet has a small percentage n auto rifles I guarantee a large portion of that is Suros. Roll on the weapon buffs/nerfs :)

If you think a certain weapon us OP in Crucible, just try and try again to get it so you can feel OP in Crucible
-
No, learn how to counter it.
-
The funny thing is most of the guns used in crucible are apparently ruining crucible. Fusion rifles shotguns hand cannons certain assault rifles certain fusion rifles certain rocket launchers etc. When does it end? If you have a gun that you get more kills with, or are more comfortable with, use it. Not using a gun because it's "too good" is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
-
I hardly consider Thorn a handcannon, first off. Second, there are ways to counter double thorn users effectively with good coordination. My teammate and I did that for doubles a lot. Grenades are a great deterrant and, if you can distract them long enough, your teammate can destroy them from the side. No opinion of hawkmoon as Xbox users can't go against it...

You serious? Fusion riffle, shotgun and shoulder bash that's what is ruining the crucible
-
shut up meg
-
What weapon the enemy uses is not the problem. Its how they use it and what strats are they using. Counter these things woth your own and youll overcome anything This is how i beat enemy teams in the first ib that had vex mythos pre nerf with a red death. Is what you do and how you encounter your enemies
-
Personally, I don't think anything is ruining thw Crucible. It is what it is and pretty much always has been. It is kind of like say the sword or battle rifle ruins Halo MP. Either you enjoy it, can tolerate it for bounties or hate it, but I don't think any particular weapon, class of weapon or power is an issue.

Handcannons are fine except for two things: Thorn - the fact that the DOT ticker shows your enemy's position through a wall means that you can basically tag an enemy and know where they will be for the next 3-4 seconds. The DOT itself is fine, but get rid of the tracking ability. Hawkmoon - The 1 shot proc. The fact that there is a primary that can OHK you on a headshot is pretty dumb, especially when it has a fairly high rate of fire. I know it's not often, but it should be never. I also personally think HCs should be 3 shot kills because of the rate of fire, but they don't quite break crucible the way they are. You just need to take greater lengths to protect yourself against them than you would all other weapons.
-
Every weapon has it's strengths and weaknesses in Crucible, just learn how to counter them and you'll do fine. The struggle will make you a better player. I used to get so mad at people using snipers/fusion rifles/Suros/Vex etc...the problem was my lack of skill, not the weapon my enemy was using.

Hand cannons are incredibly good. Low impact auto rifles and pulse rifles need a buff to be competitive.
-
I feel that shotguns ruin the crucible more than anything.

Edited by UnlivedShot: 2/3/2015 4:58:12 AMKinda funny with the talk of hawkmoon and thorn being the most annoying. The fact is the Last word can be the worst of all. high rate of fire + low recoil and the fact it will randomly do more precision damage and 2 shot you. Not to say I want hand cannons nerfed just pointing out a really nasty weapon to come up against.

CoD losers ruined the crucible after the forest week
-
Hand Cannons, Fusion, Shotguns, ARs everything is ruining crucible they should only allow melee strikes and no supers [lol]
-
nothing is ever ruining crucible. the game is played with the guns and tools that are given. supers, handcannons, fusions. anything is fine, it takes some skill to avoid alot of things. i personally run suros, murmur and hunger
-
Nope, but shotguns are.
-
Shot guns are the thing that pisses me off most.
-
I just started running thorn myself, once my hawkmoon gets the last perk i'll start using that next
-
Shotguns are worst.
-
-
Chang your title to "is thorn ruining crucible"
-
They're alright in the hands of most players, but in the hands of a really skilled doesn't-miss-a-headshot player, you either have one on your hands or you'll have a hard time taking him down.

Fusion rifles killed crucible for me
