STOP with the "feel good" Weekly Updates...

Seriously, the one thing this game DOESN'T need are a bunch of lazy developers, and a so-so community manager. (When it comes to Weekly Updates and informing the community). I don't care how many guardians bought Ice Breaker. Give us something constructive. It took 3 MONTHS to fix Thorn and Bad Juju (lol). When are the next updates coming out? When are we getting Trials of Osiris? When are we getting bug fixes? When will we be acknowledged? I love this game to death, I really do. I hope this didn't seem like I was whining. These are pressing issues that have yet to be acknowledged. Fix them Bungie.

  • Everytime I read a weekly update, they just reinforce in my mind, that the developers and community, live in completely different worlds.

    • Here's my best effort at summing up how I feel about it all, c&p'd from another post;
You're right, but I fear nothing will ever be done. Maybe not in even the second game. Why do they need to add story or depth? They've trained us to accept the minimum and not only tolerate it, but repeatedly play it as though it's something remarkable; a 10/10 experience. What is remarkable is that with this game we enter a new low for gamers: a new era. Quality is no longer necessary. Value for money is no longer necessary. Think of the possibilities. A future of gaming where anything can be rolled out, and, with all efforts diverted to hype instead of quality, we can be made to adore any addicting generic garbage. The guns in this game are Moshi Monsters for adults. The most swingeing creative economy imaginable is employed, to make you truly grateful for Future Machine Gun V4856 -- not just a stats bump, but a fancy skin on that basic model too! Wow! Ask yourself: "When was the last time I heard a villain say anything?" Does Crota - that fabulous legend of a villain / piece of furniture- say anything to qualify him as evil? Atheon? Anyone? What exactly marks these guys out as evil? Are you sure they aren't simply just defending themselves? This game is a towering triumph over so many accomplishments of gaming that preceded it. Ico, Tomb Raider, Half Life, Resident Evil 1 - 4, Metal Gears... the list is endless. For all their quality, this thing has won out over them. There's no need for storytelling anymore, or variety, or reliability even. Hell, they can take away the things we do like back out again, and we'll beat our brows but accept. A HD makeover of Unreal Tournament is, apparently, the apex of gaming. The results speak for themselves.
• This. Until they communicate actively what's being fixed or fix issues that hurt players, I firmly believe everything else they "update" us with is a slap in the face.

      • I find it a bit insulting that they start this "team building event" after a two week "vacation" after breaking the game further with the "cheese fixing."

        • I initially thought the weekly updates were going to be the patch cycle or queens wrath/IB events like many other games.... then i found out they are newsletters full of propaganda.

          • I'm sure the number of coins spent when he sells gally again will be triple that of IB. I already know I'm buying 3 of them so I don't have to swap between characters.

              • I feel your aggravation. It really wouldn't take that much to make this game LOADS better but they focus on cheesing and... not sure what else they spend time on. Maybe the DLC or D2, who knows. The hours I've played shows I like it, what it doesn't show is the amount of time I'm bored...

                • Yeah they have their priorities backwards. They care only about Gamers beating the system by cheesing. Let them cheese who cares. Please work on making the game better. Cheesing is a double edged sword, sure you get the rewards but you lose out on fun and the feeling of accomplishment you get from beating something legit. That trade off is a choice the gamer can make. for example even if there was an atheon cheese I wouldn't do it because the atheon fight is fun for me. Crota on the other hand is so boring I'd cheese him every time since the sense of accomplishment isn't worth the time spent dealing with glitches and all the team does is anyway is drop his shield. Even when I beat him legit it doesn't feel like I've done anything that required the use of my FPS abilities

                • Deej has admitted the weekly update was useless and his job was useless back in early October. Actually his made at least three allusions to his job being useless since before TDB dropped. Honestly I think he's trying to get fired. Why else would he admit to being useless, log more hours posting in other forums rather than his own company's forum, and provide the world's most out of touch weekly updates?

                  • It's called a "fluffdate" and sadly I doubt they will change. They are a lame effort to try and foster a sense of community in a mostly discouraged and growingly resentful fanbase. Sadly the powers that be at Bungie don't seem to realize that these fluffdates really only serve to increase the resentment a lot of us feel.

                    • Bungie has always been tight lipped about what is upcoming. But then again, they never put out a game a sorry as this one. Bungie used to be known for the polish that their games had upon release. They really did not have to fix much because people were happy. I am not sure what went wrong with Destiny, but it is lacking in every aspect that I thought would be there. Smaller multiplayer with fewer vehicles. Uninteresting weapons. Magic weapons.....supers and grenades. (Funny how you can "create" a Sparrow out of thin air whenever you want to, but it takes a grenade forever to restore itself.) The sad thing is that we can all see what could have been and now realize that we will have to pay alot extra just to put cannons on our Sparrows. So far the mighty have fallen to push this mess out upon loyal fans.

                      • Couldnt agree more! who cares how many strange coins xur took away with him. We want to know about fixes your looking into, bugs that you will be addressing and glitches you will be patching. We want to know about future content and your ideas at bungie...what direction your sailing the ship! you say that you wont make the same mistakes twice...ok but doesnt mean you wont make more mistakes!! you say you will be changing things up on the loot system moving forward in the HoW update, but how do you know its going to be a success if you don't ask the community before you spend hours and hours implementing something which may just fall flat on its face?! The most successful games are the ones where the community are involved in the game and the future development! informed about updates and things to come to keep us playing and preparing!!

                        I appreciate the updates as opposed to the 7yrs of waiting i had to do to get substantial info on FF 15. Granted... It may be a more subtle update weekly but at least they give me reasons to use this app. I read kotaku a lot soju get info there also and from other sources , and I use this app for a lot of other things,... But I appreciate it at least they make an effort to let the community know things

                        • Nothing like some PR crap for the weekly update, on the official site, while over on other websites they're actually getting news on the possible changes coming down the pipes. Nothing like having the community here in a froth, and seeing some kid tries to link Kotaku articles that offer more insight than any Official forum reply
