• It's not They may regret it later but it's not -blam!- if they consent to it while drunk What usually happens is that one of the two will say no but is too drunk to stop it or the rapist is too drunk to listen

  • Some of this is true. I'm a better driver than 90% of the women out there. Not because I'm skilled at it but because I take my time and don't drive too fast on snow and ice covered roads. Yet I still pay more than my sister who runs stop lights and is a psycho while driving. That makes a lot of sense. On the topic of -blam!-, if both are drunk they should be both charged with -blam!-. Its your own fault for getting intoxicated and being alone with someone. Very rarely is it a case of slipping drugs or violent altercations. I've had plenty of ex gf claim to be -blam!- yet they let any guy into their house, guys they haven't talked to in months or years, guys that they see walking around their apartment complex. To me this all seems like poor judgment on the male and females part. Tales two to do all of this so its not really a sex issue more of your an idiot issue.

"Tell me a story, papa," said the boy. His father lowered the newspaper. "I have one for you." The boy leaned in closer as his father whispered, "It's called 'the Legend of Xboxdotcom.'" The father began the story: "There once was an Internet forum -- much like other forums -- except this one was devoted to video games. On the forum, all walks of nerd came together to discuss some of the finer points of being a nerd. "There were also the trolls. A troll, you see, gets a rise out of ruffling others' jimmies. Like how a teen masturbates furiously to get off, the troll will bait the forum users into arguments for the sake of it. During the golden age of trolling, many 'lolz' were had at the expense of the unworthy. "But over time, the trolls started to become less clever. They lost their edge, so to speak, by attempting to become too edgy. Until finally, there were none left. And the Internet forum was devoid of pranksters. "A young user who knew the forum's history well aspired to become the type of troll that was missing. His name was Xboxdotcom. But he wasn't sure where to begin, so he sought assistance from a retired troll. "Xboxdotcom traveled to lands far away in search of the once-famous troll, who had become a recluse. At the troll's sanctuary, Xboxdotcom requested training. And -- much to Xboxdotcom's surprise -- the troll decided to train Xboxdotcom. "Months passed, and the troll finally decided to test Xboxdotcom. "'I don't think I'm ready!' Replied Xboxdotcom when the troll said to post a thread. "'You are,' responded the troll. "'But I--' "'Try, Xboxdotcom.'" The rest is history.

Equality. Except a man is called a liar if he's "-blam!-" by a woman. While a woman is a "survivor" is she's -blam!- by a man. Both should be called "dumbass" if they are intoxicated.

It's tricky, isn't it? There are plenty of things that ethically, legally or just common-sense that one "shouldn't do" when intoxicated (or at least it's frowned on by society). Driving. Operating heavy machinery. Agree to a legally binding contract. Work, and so on. Most of them revolve around the idea that the intoxicated person (or persons) have impaired judgement/abilities and as a result, they should not engage in actions that could reasonably harm themselves or others. Sex CAN fall into that category (where the lack of judgement could allow someone to ignore a risk and do something that they otherwise might not do) and so, society (as well as individuals) have to grapple with the situation and all of the various ways it can occur. While it's tempting to come up with a simple "if this, then that" sort of rule or law on the matter, the subtle variations and wide possibilities of the situation make a "this is always bad" statement to be..... unrealistic and inflexible. Sex is so simple and yet so tricky (even without intoxication involved) and the risks/benefits are so subjective that all I can say is that I do my best to know that it is mutually consensual and that I will "wait or pass" if that's not 100% established. But being intoxicated? Despite my lofty "standards of conduct", I've made some incredibly stupid, risky, dangerous and harmful decisions while "under the influence". And then had to accept responsibility for my actions, face the consequences and accept the outcomes. Such is life when you choose to "let go of your control".

            • From what I know, drunk sex with mutual consent =/= rapè, at least from a legal standpoint. Most women I know are pretty good at behaving like humans instead of snakes, e.g. none of them have ever tried to exploit the law to their advantage.

Because neither party can consent when intoxicated. If you do not have full control of your faculties, you cannot consent to anything. You are not in your right mind. If you are on any sort of drugs, have been drinking, or are asleep consent cannot be given. Consent is never implied. Edit: for everyone crying. Here is one study for you. I have two others but they require such subscriptions to journals. Which you'll never read because you'll never actually be open-minded enough to legitimately research this stuff.

                        • Feminism Is a Hate Group When some of the most prominent feminists and famous women make openly hateful anti-male statements, and the mainstream feminist organizations say and do nothing to distance themselves from such public statements, then it’s clear that the hatred of men has an accepted place in mainstream feminism. Does this seem like a harsh assessment of feminism? Perhaps. Is it true? Absolutely. One of the main problems with “feminism” is that it exploits the legitimate claims of equal rights as a cloak to usher in its divisive, hateful and neurotic interests. Interests that are plainly anti-male and not at all about equal rights. For example, here are some quotes from famous feminists. “I feel that ‘man-hating’ is an honourable and viable political act, that the oppressed have a right to class-hatred against the class that is oppressing them.” – Robin Morgan, Ms. Magazine Editor “To call a man an animal is to flatter him; he’s a machine, a walking dildo.” -– Valerie Solanas “I want to see a man beaten to a bloody pulp with a high-heel shoved in his mouth, like an apple in the mouth of a pig.” — Andrea Dworkin “-blam!- is nothing more or less than a conscious process of intimidation by which all men keep all women in a state of fear” — Susan Brownmiller “The more famous and powerful I get the more power I have to hurt men.” — Sharon Stone “In a patriarchal society, all heterosexual intercourse is -blam!- because women, as a group, are not strong enough to give meaningful consent.” — Catherine MacKinnon “The proportion of men must be reduced to and maintained at approximately 10% of the human race.” — Sally Miller Gearhart “Men who are unjustly accused of -blam!- can sometimes gain from the experience.” – Catherine Comins “All men are rapists and that’s all they are” — Marilyn French “Probably the only place where a man can feel really secure is in a maximum security prison, except for the imminent threat of release.” — Germaine Greer.

Probably the only thing you and I agree on. I've read Governor Jerry Brown's bill on this. I'm not sure if its been changed, but the initial law was purely for protecting women on college campuses. The law is exactly as you put it, it can be considered man-râpe even if both parties are drunk. Not sure if Brown has fixed the sexist issue with this bill yet. I hope he has.

                          • If you make the decision to get drunk then you should take full responsibility for your actions afterward. That'd be like a drunk woman getting behind the wheel and crashing into a family and killing then and saying it was a accident and the whole thing gets thrown out the window. You don't wanna get taken advantage of then the simple solution is, is to not get drunk in public without a sober friend or just don't drink period. I'll be the first guy to say this but if a woman hits me for no good reason she better damn well get ready to protect herself cause I'll be damn I'll let anyone hit me without a good reason to do so.
