I FIXED PULSE RIFLES

While pondering during some free time I had I thought about Destiny and a common complaint. Pulse rifles have no place. Well I say no more!!! I honestly think by giving ALL pulse rifles a passive boost in damage in a SMART fashion would fix them. [u]1st[/u] -Increasing the damage of the rounds [b]per consecutive hits[/b]that also reset after the burst. Any misses with any round would reset it back to the 1st round. Ex: 3 round burst, 1st round ×1.0 _2nd round ×1.2 _3rd round ×1.5_ then reset back to 1st. [u]2nd[/u] - more simple(probably easier to code as well), but increased damage for each consecutive round in the burst. This does everything as the first example but [b]isn't reliant on accuracy. [/b] My personal favorite is my first suggestion because burst weapons are usually for increased marksmanship and this would directly reward that play style while keeping a better balance to gameplay.   • I have a good point, the low damage models absolutely melt heads. if you're not getting headshots, you're not going to get favorable results. a flat damage buff would be the absolute wrong way to go about it. check my titan, i main pulse rifles i know their strengths and weaknesses. heres what you want if you want them buffed. 1. improved midair accuracy: Doing this would allow them to be more mobile blend between auto rifles and scout rifles. I find more often than not, dropping down a half an inch fall turns my timepiece into a shotgun for no good reason. and it would be nice to have them be an aggressive mobile marksman platform. 2. reduce recoil and increase range by a margin of 10%. They shouldn't have to be as close as they do to get three rounds on a head sized target. It makes no real sense from a balance perspective that inside of a burst, three rounds from a pulse rifle feels like it has more recoil than an autorifle of a similar high/mid/low damage model. For the recoil per burst, here is what i recommend, recoil is not a factor in the burst until after the second or third shot. this way it would reward marksmanship more. 3. add execute damage to non shielded/shield broken targets. the concept here is simple, the pulse rifle would do more damage to an enemy the less health they have. my recommended model for execute damage is this, shots fired from pulse rifles deal an additional 2-3% damage for each 10% health below 50% health the target is. By doing this, pulse rifles would reward constant aggressive marksmanship and you'd be less likely to have a target survive with 2% of their health. tl:dr 1. Buff accuracy in midair 2. buff range and recoil control 3. execute damage.

      • None of the above. Simply give PRs a 2.0 headshot multiplier. Good aim = 2 burst kills. TTK should be about in line with something like a handcannon. Pretty mindblowing they haven't even toyed with this idea yet; but then again - bungie has always lacked vision.

        • How about eliminate pulse rifles as a weapon class entirely And make 'burst fire' a possible weapon perk on some auto rifles Kinda like how they are in real life?

          • The problem with most pulse rifles is they have next to no impact, just like AR's. AR's with no impact I can understand - you have the fire rate to compensate. But pulse rifles with next to no impact feel like pea shooters as opposed to actual guns. Unless you are running a Red Death, most legendary pulse rifles are just plain garbage simply because they have no bite in regards to the impact. My Praedyth's Timepiece, the new Oversoul Edict - two raid pulse rifles with trash impact. The only time I was my Praedyth is during weeklies with arc burn - everywhere else it is useless.

              • Simpler fix. Burst-fire weapons are a compromise between single-shot, semi-auto weaons (better accuracy) and automatic weapons (higher volume of fire.) Auto rifles need to have their stability nerfed. ...and Pulse rifles need to have both their impact and their stability increased. To create a niche for PRs, you first have to remove the ARs that are occupying it.
