Morning Storm Part Two, Act 2.

Here's the second half of part two. Don't forgot to leave your thoughts below. Enjoy. “If there’s a guardian still inside, we should make haste and find him.” Said Chad, the male twin. “It’s fine, you guys can go on with your mission and find the artifact wherever it may be. The guardian inside is a close friend of mine and more important to us than the artifact.” Adam said as he stared at the dead titan and telling the truth. “Preposterous! If a guardian needs rescuing, the mission can wait.” Kal told Adam. “It’s fine, Mr. Stone. We can handle this.” Said Juul. “I never turn down an opportunity to help out fellow guardians, especially those in danger. Let’s get moving. My lovely twins make sure those knives and guns are prepped for potential hive dismantling.” Kal looked down his sights as the twins prepped their weaponry. “We’re ready, sir.” The twins, Liz and Chad shouted. They brandished their various knives reflecting nearby light off their blades. The handling of their blades was very impressive. Juul delightfully imitated the twins with her own trusty six-inch bowie knife. It was like another form of communication between hunters. I had no idea what they were saying. “Strike team wolf will follow your lead.” Kal gestured Adam to enter the fortress. Kal was strong willed and Adam would have been a fool to attempt to convince him that his help wasn’t needed. Adam and Juul shared another look and nodded. “Alright, then, a little help is always useful.” Said Adam. “Correct!” Kal added. “We’ll split into two parties. One party will be Kal, Don, and I. The other party will be Juul and the twins.” “Ah, two titans to guard the warlock while the three hunters misbehave. Solid plan!” Kal’s enthusiasm was motivational. That very moment, I was almost anxious to run into trouble in the lair. I thought perhaps I could prove myself to my new patrol party and the legendary wolf pack. We parted ways with the hunters and came across a chamber room containing several doorway shrouded in darkness. Blue phosphoric lanterns lit up the room. A lantern hung above every doorway by tiny short looped chains. There was a puddle of oozing black liquid on one side of the room. On the other side, there was a giant door. This giant door had to lead to somewhere important. Adam ordered me to get my ghost to examine the door. There were two chains hanging from the top of the door, one crossing under the other like a X. Rex analyzed the door and told me he could open the door. It would just take a while. “Rex is on the door, guys. But it’s going to take a moment.” I told Adam and Kal over my built-in helmet communicator. Adam responded, “That’s good. You watch the entrance while Kal and I continue searching the room.” “Solid plan! Party leader.” Kal added. “Keep an ear out for our hunter friends. Their channel’s cold.” Even with the lamps, it was still fairly dark. I could see the lights of Adam and Kal’s ghosts on the other side of the room, race in circles on the walls. “Don, we’re going to get visitors soon. I’m picking up motion.” Rex warned me. “Is it Juul and the twins?” I asked Rex. “It’s the hive.” I looked over at Adam and Kal and could see their ghosts’ lights shine on the wet ceiling. They knew hive were on their way. The ghosts’ lights followed the sounds in the ceilings. “Get ready for a fight, rookie.” Adam said over the transmitting channel. “Shall we keep count and winner takes all possible engrams found in this lair?” “You’re on, Kal!” Adam’s challenge acceptance echoed in the throne room. Across the room, I could see Adam aiming his handcannon at one of the doors containing a dark fog of darkness. I couldn’t see Kal, but he didn’t need supervision. I prepared my auto rifle and counted my pulse grenades. I nearly jumped off the ground at each thump that came from the ceiling. Rex was focused on unlocking the door. He heard me activate my grenades and told me with his attention still on the door, “Just like our first encounter, Don. Aim and shoot.” “Right.” I heard the screeches of thralls grow louder from the entrance. I pulled up my vanguard issued auto rifle and aimed at the doorway. I was quite nervous. Could my party depend on me? I was a titan that couldn’t strike or defend. This would be my second time since Rex found me that I would be fighting against minions of darkness. The first time was against some fallen in Old Russia, where I was resurrected. Some would say that was a mere fluke. Waking up with nothing and within an hour or so flying away towards the tower with a pre-golden age auto rifle and stolen ship. So, there I was, a month later after being “awakened”, grouped up with a mysterious sunsinger and a legendary titan, prepared for the worst. The only difference now is that I’m great with a gun. Powerless like in my old life. At that moment, I couldn’t even perform a simple storm fist or storm grip. I’ve tried over and over again under Commander Zavala’s guidance. My attempts had been less than underwhelming. A havoc strike would have been asking for too much after just a month. With my progress, a havoc strike would only occur in a dream. I thought to my self, if I were to survive then, it would be thanks to my marksman training received at the tower. I thought to myself “I’m just a pre-golden age foot soldier, I’m no titan. I’m no guardian.” I couldn’t emit a pulse of lightning to save my life. So I thought… Part One: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/91704086/0/0 previous act: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/92389508 next part: http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/94492255
