Iron banner has become routine, as well as the default event since Bungie has failed to produce any new event types. The real issue with IB is that the rewards are not commensurate to the amount of time necessary to rank up each time the event pops up. The weapons are straight up garbage...honestly I've never seen a player using IB weapons in either PVE or PVP settings. I gave them the old college try and found they were inferior to legendary's that I could simply purchase from the various vendors. Event weapons should at least be comparable if not slightly superior to purchased weapons. IB should offer a complete set of lvl32 gear. Some could be purchased through leveling up and others through random drops from completing matches. Currently, the only offered gear are 32 gloves and 31 chest. The chest is immediately useless as you can purchase same lvl gear from vendors. Honestly, my question is why invest time in this event at all when there really is no reward for doing so. Complete waste of time...and the few raid groups that I run with (largely all lvl 32) simply feel the same. The cap stone event in Destiny will always be Hard Mode Raid, therefore, it is a great injustice o players to not give them the ability to attain max rank through gear, other than a chance at a random drop once per week. A limited time event, such as IB, would be ideal to help fill in the gaps of armor that someone is missing. By giving the ability to fill in said gaps its helps a player that routinely gets only shard drops from raids instead of gear (which is infuriating when team members get two and three raid sets in drops). Bungie is all about balance...well here is a chance to bring balance to their crappy unbalanced loot system. As for me and my crew, we've decided to simply boycott the event all together...our time is worth something to us...and spending large amounts of time for zero reward simply doesn't add up.
