What's unique about Titanfall?

I've been studying the game very hard and I'm struggling to find anything innovative or unique about the game. Everyone on this site acts like it's the second coming of Christ (along with Destiny, which I don't understand why either). Everyone runs around here proclaiming how this game is going to kill all other FPS's and reign supreme. Well, first off, it's preorders are doing pretty badly but I'll let that slide considering it's a "new" title. The game is made by some of the people who made CoD. The influence is there. Heavily. Look at the guns. Player models. Take away the cheap looking HuD and it looks like CoD: Ghosts. Graphics are bad for next gen, and the game appears to be running on an engine similar to Call of Duty's. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was the same engine. Gameplay: At best, it looks entertaining to play for half an hour. Sure, it might be fun when everyone gets it at first, but so was Halo 4, MW2, etc. The most "innovative" feature I see in this game is the parkour wall bouncing feature. I'm gonna ignore Mechs right now. So, yeah, bounce around walls and buildings and shoot people. Sounds pretty fun. Maybe it is. It'll start getting old once people are jumping over a building behind you after you spawn and killing you. Even if that doesn't happen, the system is just as innovative as Reach's armor abilities: not at all. Now, onto mechs. Mechs are in a billion other games. Even Black Ops 2 had something like a mech. Halo 4 had the Mantis. But in those games, no no no, not innovative at all. It's only innovative if you make the damn thing a killstreak and make it as OP as possible. What has this place come to? We hate CoD because of killstreaks and perks when Titanfall does the same thing. "Oh, but the mech is fun to drive!" you say. I'm sure it is the first time. Then when the whole other team is in mechs and yours isn't, things aren't quite so fun and balanced anymore. And the whole story integrated into multiplayer thing. I think that's a load of bullshit. All it means is the devs were to lazy to make a campaign and decided to have looped and repeated dialogue and cutscenes before and after every game. That's my personal 2 cents. Give me your thoughts. Please tell me I'm wrong about this game.

  • Titanfall is probably has one of the best multiplayers of any game. Commenting on your opinions of the mechanics, wallrunning, it isn't broken and makes the game extremely fun when you get used to it. And the mechs aren't like mechs in other games. They aren't clunky, and have a lot more customization and mechanics to them to make it unique. To me, the only two major downfalls are no single player story mode and lacking in the amount of customization. The game is definitely lacking but in my opinion you are wrong about this game, and I can still recommend it.
