NAT TYPE ISSUE.

Me and my brother had been playing on the same internet connection all day. he had been receiving the NAT 3 issue type but it was not effecting us, we went out and both bought the expansion pack, and it stopped allowing us to join eachothers fireteam. please resolve this issue as it is very frustating and disappointing after spending $75 on DLC.

  • Hey dude! NAT Type-3 or "Strict" NAT types means your router is being very selective about the traffic it lets in and out of your home network. While it can cause issues connecting to Destiny services, NAT shouldn't directly block you or your brother on your home network. While I can't be sure of the cause from over here, it might be worth making sure UPnP (or Univeral Plug n' Play) is enabled as sometimes certain IPs can be assigned to multiple consoles, causing network difficulties. BUNGiE has created a helpful NAT Guide which you can find at the link below: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11931 Good luck! I'm fighting through a few bugs myself right now, so I know the struggle!

U need to resolve your nat type problem either run hardwired into your router which will fix it or you will have to open ports on it to get it to nat 2. But running two consoles over wifi will be difficult to get nat 2 on both systems

    • Most routers can't handle more than one console at the same time. What are you using? What's your setup?
