There's a lot of people frustrated with the loot system and subsequently the decryption by Master Rahool. So I thought up a compromise. What about if we had to once again get green engrams decrypted by the Cryptarch like we did when we first started a character? It wouldn't increase the drop of blue or even purple engrams or their chances to decrypt into better items and it wouldn't increase the chance of purple engrams from leveling the Cryptarch but it would increase the speed at which you do level the Cryptarch and therefore would increase the number of packages you got and therefore increase your chances of pulling a purple engram from a package.
I find the drop rate of blue engrams in the wild to be very sparse let alone how often a purple drops. I have no use for blue engrams other than leveling the Cryptarch and I would venture a guess that there is a large percentage of players that also have minimal use for purple engrams other than decrypting and leveling the Cryptarch.
The coding to make green engrams encoded is already there and would just need to be reinstated for those at a higher level. This may be a fair compromise to having a noticeable increase in drop rates.

I've still been seeing more blues than I used to. Still not many purples. I have leveled the Cryptarch several times just to be given more blues. Leveled the Vanguard several times also, no weapon/armor, just material.

Either my luck has changed or the drop rate has increased. I've been seeing more blues lately. Not a tremendous amount more, but more. I haven't noticed an increase in purples though.

My brother gets purple engrams all day long compared to me, but even then I don't really care because when he or I get one, it just turns into coins, motes, or materials 98% of the time... And do exotic engrams even drop??

Better plan. Just make the Greens add rep when we grab them.
