I really love the Patrol missions, the bigger maps with no set objective. I love gathering materials and completing bounties on patrol, testing my new gear/weapons and just enjoying the incredible view and details of this game and my character(while in 3rd perspective, animations/melee weapons).
I'd love to see these maps and "Patrol missions" to keep on expanding, just the latest additions of Blades of Crota mobs and the "wars" taking place in Skywatch have improved my Patrol experience tremendously.
I'd love for Patrol to have some more immersion, perhaps a small "settlement" on each planet, just some NPCs/stores and maybe some more activities for players, like defending incoming assaults or "escorting" NPCs through and to locations on the maps, serving as a "Guardian".
I love Destiny as a FPS, and I dont want it to change, but some more immersion or "roleplaying" so you really feel like a "Guardian" and not just a "Fragger" of NPCs would really make those great environments feel a bit more inhabited and alive. I'd love to see some wildlife, maybe even related to mini-missions. It looks better than many of the open-world RPGs, just adding a bit more immersion related material would really make Destiny stand out as the unique Game it is Destined to be. A little less "arcade" and a little bit "uncertain" events and possibilities would make it very interesting, I'd think it'd really make players "inhabit" the planets in a way where it all comes alive in a new way.
Maybe some optional(on/off) PvP or Team-based "hold and capture" points locations could be implemented in a fun, safe and creative way, holding small "camps" for generating material/ammo/loot.
Thank you.

I usually feel the same way you do about free roam in games, I love just exploring. Sadly, I just can't get into exploring Destiny's worlds, I don't know why. I guess for the same reasons you made this thread - lack of variety.
