Please consider the following improvements:
- Respect game progress
We are willing to grind hard, but having to reset all my exotic weapons progress is a big wast of my time-investment and commitment. And i also have to spend a ton of hard-earned glimmer and waste an exotic shard just to reset my progress… And why cant we just update all the old exotics whenever we want? This is truly the worst system i have ever seen.
- Respect skill and commitment
It is not fair that new players can buy better gear, then what you get from doing endgame content. Vendors now sell better gear then you get from Vault of Glass.
- Respect the choice of play styles
We don't choose the perks we want on our gear, because it matches our play style. We all use the same gear because it is the only gear that will give you the highest light-lvl. So much for players having different play styles…
- Respect a days work = a days pay
Random loot generator is not really working well for anybody, it is not a rewarding system at all! It is just random. If you are the best player in a game/only player that doesn’t die… Well, the game doesn’t care. You can get 0 kills and 100 deaths, and still get the best reward in a nightfall strike. This makes no sense. Im still running VOG hard after 15 times of not getting the Vex Mythoclast. Instead i am rewarded with old versions of weapons, like the universal remote.
- Fix what’s broken
* Vault of Glass glitches (glitchy portals, detain-shields, +more).
* Crotas End (Bridge Warlock Sunsinger-cheese, and Crota-cheat)
(I often get kicked to orbid in the end of nightfall-strikes for no reason, would you consider checkpoints? If you die, you still have to restart. Im getting kicked out of the game on a daily basis, about 10-15 different error-codes! Zebra, Marionberry, Weasel, Bee and many many more. It tells me I have "no connection to xbox-live" while i am talking to my friends in xbox live party. haha. I also have to install updates on a daily basis, reinstalling the game now.
- Stop changing the currency... and the nonsense farming
I dont play this game to run around to collect rocks and flowers all day… Neither do I want to spend hours upon farming glimmer in the same spot because it is the only way that is fast enough to afford exotic-upgrades from Xúr. Glimmer is so hard to get now, everything is SO EXPENSIVE, ITS RIDICULOUS. So it will take me many months to upgrade my old exotics…
- Raid matchmaking
I know you dont encourage raid-matchmaking, but not having matchmaking for it doesn’t make any difference. We all just use a bunch of time on the DestinyLFG, and have to send out a ton of invites and messages and party-invites. And this is allot of time going to not playing the game…
- "No chat" is better then a "broken chat"
Your in-game fireteam-chat is so glitchy, i have to quit/do hard reset on Xbox One-console in order to be able to talk with friends trough xbox live party…
- Xùr is unreachable
Why do you punish the players that work every weekend, or the ones that for any reason can not be on at that exact specific time of the week. I understand that you want him to be rare and mysterious, but please change it so he is always in the tower. Just let him move position every other day, and only update his inventory once a week.
- Listen to feedback now!
Before it’s too late… It is time we make some changes, and listen to those who play the game the most. Follow Datto Does Destiny, MoreConsole, and read the articles from Kotaku and Polygon. They have allot of good ideas on improvements for the game.

These are the things we talk about at Bungie, and I'm glad to see players thinking about the game in the same way. You obviously care a lot about Destiny, and I appreciate your voice in the conversation. Some of these changes require a change in the way designers think about rewards. Some of them take a lot of time and effort to steer the ship in that direction. Destiny will continue to change and evolve, and chatter like this helps. Keep it coming.

Raids would be harder than they are and randoms would cry for nerfs, true gamers would suffer again. The same problem was part of other games and when Bungie would bring Matchmaking for Raids, the Raids in Destiny awaits the same fate. Xur should not even sell Exotcs, its make this game too casual, Xur in Tower for the whole week, good joke!

Don't know about you guys but I don't like pouring hours into this game trying to get something I may never get due to rng

They're the same weapons and armor, slight attack and defense buffs. Why can't they just have another upgrade node? The RNG is horrid. 900 hours in and found every single Exotic weapon at least 4 times but can't find a single Hard Light or Gjallahorn, IN 900 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY, that seems broken to me.

Excellent post, covered many issues with the game. It is a fun game... But could and should be much improved upon. Destiny will either evolve/grow, or it will die. My hope is they actually listen to some of your suggestions.

Why waste the time giving players anything meaningful if it means they will get to the level cap quicker before the next money-grabbing "expansion" hits the market? They know that the moment you reach that max level within the first month, you won't have a reason to keep playing for the rest of the 2 months... that is of coarse if you continue to play for the purpose of gaining the exotic you want and then farming for the glimmer and materials necessary to maximize it's upgrades. They are not going to listen to you, PERIOD! They will keep Xur a once-a-weekend vendor disregarding those who work during the time he's in the tower, they will keep random loot random to ensure newbies get a chance at rising through the ranks with little to no effort, because if people don't feel like badasses playing this game then they will discontinue playing it. There will be no story in bulk because if the story was all given at launch they wouldn't be able to maximize profit by dangling the promise of a bigger story through the next "expansion" in front of your face. Broken chat means nothing to them, if it was all about being social as they claimed it would be, then they would've given us a proximity chat via quote bubbles over each Guardian's head, as well as a proper voice chat. Disabling matchmaking for the hardest content in the game is again meant to ensure that everyone doesn't beat it too fast, giving them an incentive to continue playing the game. Grimiore cards are meant to try and satisfy you for the lack of a competent story in the game while you're forced to purchase it in later "expansions" that do little to expand the story at all. Exotic weapons and armor will remain under this failed "reset" system because rather than have you jump up to all these next level enemies with the progress you've obtained with your exotic weapon, they saw an opportunity to... you guessed it, have you farm more to further ensure that you stay hooked in the game and never leave it. It remains lucrative that way. Get with the program buddy, this is Bungie, who are now in bed with one of the most notorious money-grabbing jackasses in the industry - ACTIVISION! Saruman: "There will be no dawn... for men."

I'm feel for the guy that has put in tons of time to get repeats of some exotics and still be missing 1 or two of the ones you want.... my count... 4 plan c's, 3 no land beyond, 2 patience and time's, 2 last words, and endless count of "exotic bounties" (I've started accepting them then aborting immediately because doing the same 5 things with no variance for crap gear gets boring) and I've yet to come across the g-horn even once. Now with crota I run 6 strikes a week, 3 NFL's and 3 heroics,ax out my crucible and play past that, and max out my vanguard with ROC strikes and play past that, open hundreds if not thousands of legendary engrams... and still have yet to trip over the g-horn... There should be some sort of personal check list that keeps track of what you have and won't let you repeat an exotic find until you've gotten the other ones in that rotation... for Christ sakes the no land beyond has been out for two weeks and I've gotten the damn thing 3 times... And when xur was selling it this past weekend was like a kick in the nuts...

I agree with most of your post except the fixing the bridge/crota cheese.. you can jump into the raid solo and get the first chest which gives gear/shards/exotics. This method may take longer but I got two pieces of my Hunter gear from that first chest. Cheese or not... gear is gear no matter if you follow the straight line to get it or you think outside the box.

This. All of this. Tomorrow I'm just going to do the weekly and I'll be done with the game untill next week. I'm tired of the grind. The problem is not even the grind itself, its that its meaningless. It will get reset anyway, so why max it out? Too many currencies to farm, very little incentive to do anything.

True, no one enjoys someone having a free ride however there may be reasons. Two of the players completely out hit the other, the player may be trying to get the 'survive a strike without dying' bounty, one player may be a bit slower and the others race off... All blam blam and pushing in front. As for random engrams..... What would happen is that a total dog eat dog world would appear overnight if it was based on kills. Personally I don't think 'kills' necessarily show who the best player is, I've no problem getting 'killed' in order to open up a boss so someone else can get a shot in. I like the status quo.

I have to go online, or private message a bunch of random people. When I buy a game, I expect to be able to play every aspect THROUGH the game itself. No raid or nightfall matchmaking is the saddest, most disappointing aspect of destiny for me. They shoulda put that bullshit on the box. "Internet access to a 3rd party website required for good percentage of gameplay"

1 ReplyI agree with everything you said but the whole" new players should not be able to buy gear better than old raid gear" If new players had to go trough all the old content just to play the new stuff they would be upset. That would be like saying in wow you have to do all 30 raids to play the level 100 raid. No you do missions untill you get 100 then you play the 100 raid. In WoW I played for 4 years and people who just downloaded the game for the first time in 2 weeks could be the same level as me. That's how it works sadly.

Raid matchmaking seriously needs to be a thing. We are already taking chances on a group being good or not through the forums and LFG. It's such a hassle to find other players. At least give the weekly challenges matchmaking, those are just strikes! And I can already hear everyone saying "Dude get some friends lol," kinda hard when the player base is as toxic as what's found here.

1 ReplyVote for raid matchmaking. I still have not done the first raid due to this. I guess I will never know what the big deal was. Their lead designer said they were not considering this at this time, but for people who get screwed out of content because "we're not considering" is ridiculous. Same for weekly strike, so other than the occasional coin from the public event or 1 in 50 blue engrams I turn in, I will never get enough to buy anything. It took me forever to get enough to buy 1 from Xur. I even broke 1 down (which I got from the crucible of all places) to get a shard to upgrade when if I could do the weekly I wouldn't of had to.
