Making Use of Idle Guardians

Hello Destiny Fans! I was playing the other day with one of my characters and I realized that your extra characters don't really do much when you're not using them... And that's when I thought about a cool way to use them, and that was by sending them to... MISSIONS IN SPACE!!!!!! The system would be much like the one implemented on Assassins Creed, Star Wars The Old Republic, Avatar, Dragon Age: Inquisition, you get the point. For those of you that are not familiar with those games, they have a mode in which you send people into missions while you play the game. Those people gather materials, money, or experience. I think that Destiny would be able to make this mode interesting because you would be sending your own character into a mission, which makes them more of a valuable asset. Who likes having two idle characters in a vault while they play? I don't... Do something or GTFO Guardians!!!! Missions Missions could range anywhere from protecting a settlement from invaders to researching a new threat. You would gather your Guardians either on the tower, or while on orbit using a transmission which would be how you can issue orders to your other characters. Different characters would have boosts for different missions. Like; Hunters would specialize on Espionage (tracking, assassination, reconnaissance) Warlocks would specialize on Intelligence\Lore (studying enemies, structures, cultures, etc) Titans would specialize on Military Might (defending locations, securing locations, etc) Success would be based on your gear and class. For Ex; A mission requires a Guardian to protect a settlement from invaders. Weapons could give you a bonus for success. Like on this particular situation, an LMG would give you a better chance at succeeding than a rocket launcher. Using a Titan would give you a better boost for a mission like this because they are more in line of the support role. A mission requires that a high ranking Enemy be assassinated A sniper rifle would give you more of a boost than a fusion rifle or a shotgun, and using a Hunter would give you a higher success rate than a Titan or Warlock because that's more in line with their abilities. A mission requires you to investigate some ancient ruins This mission would more suited for a Warlock. You could use Damage type as a bonus, like the ruins require a Solar fusion rifle in order to open a locked mechanism. Rewards The rewards could be the same as bounties. You turn them in and level up whichever faction requested said mission. This would make Factions matter because right now, we are playing the game without those factions in mind AND their rank could be shared across your three Guardians because your efforts are based on your group and not your character. Doing these missions could also have the potential of dropping a legendary engram every now and then, or shaders, or a SHIP! Just the raw thought of something with potential. What do you guys thinks? Edit: If you could do this, which of your characters would be the leader of your squad? My Titan would be the leader of mine, he's just too bad ass to be anything else.
