Volume control in which I can adjust game sound and chat sound separately would be game changer for me. It's often difficult if not impossible to hear my fireteam over the game itself. More specifically I can't hear without a headset, with or without my surround sound on. Then the few times I can hear them they can't hear me over the game on my tv. In addition my boyfriend and I are both gamers. We play and chat with many of the same people and it's beyond annoying when we can't both talk because he can only hear our friends using the headset. Also not everybody wants to use a headset. It works fine for a lot of players and when I'm playing home alone I don't mind so much, but I just really don't like using it and I'm sure others have the same preference. On top of personal preference there are social aspects that can make using a headset a pain. For example I share a household with my boyfriend a roommate and have friends over often and I find it very frustrating how difficult it is to talk to someone who's using a headset or even while I'm wearing one. Even simple things like "move over" "is your raid almost through?" Or "you want a sandwich?" Become difficult between our ears being covered and knowing weather or not a raid members giving instructions. If our buddy's trying to walk my guy through something I'm not gonna have a clue and probably interrupt and that can really be a pain. Not to mention all the "what?"s "hu?"s "what he say?" Cuz my guy has the headset on and I thought he was talking to me when he wasn't or not hearing him talk to me cuz I thought he was talking in the microphone or even because our buddy's online and made a joke or awesome kill and I can't hear him talking to me cuz I'm not wearing the headset! I would very much prefer just to turn the game down or chat up and just talk normally. Seeing as Destiny is an online multiplayer game it makes sense to me that the creators would make that aspect of it easier by improving communication between players and adding separate sound control settings to the game itself and chats would do exactly that.
