What if you can replay the story, at the current level cap, minus two levels, with the Epic, Light-switch, Nightfall, and Angry modifiers plus all burns for the [b]enemy only[/b], no health regen, and no radar. This means that you will have to learn your enemies, stack up on resources, and actually strategize for the story. It would be comparable to the Halo campaign with all the skulls. Enough with all of the boring stuff, right? I know you want loot, so I have an idea. What if this mode included special engram drops, and dropped gear that could bring you to the current light cap, and have exclusive raid equivalent weapons. Also, each mission gives an insane amount of glimmer, shards, and energy. Think of it as an exclusive set that only the best of the best would get, just like raid gear. It would be another path to becoming legend, other than Iron Banner and raiding, and would be well respected.

  • Each run gives an award equivalent to one raid boss. That would be fair. It would also give the solo player something end game related to strive for. The legendary story mode gear should have its own perks unique to the activity like raid gear has extra perks that help with the raid. Bungie is rightly concerned with pacing content so you always have something to do. For this I say make the legendary story an added daily and if you are in a group there are no respawns or rezzes. Give this content it's own internal economy like they have for the raid and cap the loot drop at 2 or 3 prices a week -> still RNG. Loot is RNG but upgrade materials are always granted (2 per daily event). Don't forget a small chance at an exotic. The chance should be somewhere in line with every 7-10 days an exotic should drop. Also the gear needs to have a unique skin so that people who see you know how you got your gear. This gives a raid group you join a heads up that you may be new to the raid even though your level 32. New raiders are fine with me to bring but I like to know in advance so I can slow the pace of my raid to make sure the new guy understands the strategies. An additional end game skin also adds to variety so we don't all look like a bunch of clones. Just saying. Last plug for this -> Iron Banner Armor should be reforgable with each new event so that we can eventually get the full set. It is a beautiful set of gear on all classes and again would give variety. Make the perks and stats different for each event and when you reforge something you only update the current stats to the max level. This way you always have a reason to play Iron Banner because gear may come out with better perks than your current one. For example I use thorn so I want extra hand cannon ammo and faster reload. However, if I get Suros to go on sale again or drop for me I will also want auto rifle perks. This would always give me a reason to care about Iron Banner. I loved Iron Banner 2.0 and that was all I did for the duration of that event when it was live. However, knowing that the hard mode raid is right around the corner and my raid gear is superior to the IB gear I have maybe played 4 rounds in this event. <shame because it is so fun>
